Dance at Eastlake This Thursday July 28, 2016

Hello Dancers,  
  It will be another happy Dance Party this Thursday night, July 28, 2016, in the Eastlake Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be snacks and beverages.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The fabulous DJ Mel Zaragoza is still in town and he will play line dances 6pm-7pm, followed by mixed ballroom and line dancing until 10pm.  DIRECTIONS:  Take the H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into parking lot - the Clubhouse is behind the the gated fence. 


Last Thursday was ARABIAN NIGHTS DANCE PARTY, July 21, 2016, with DJ Bing playing at Eastlake.  Thanks to about 7 first-timers to the Thursday night dance and returning couples, there were 40 dancers for the party. THURSDAY JULY 21, 2016, ARABIAN NIGHTS at Eastlake I Clubhouse:

#1 BELLY DANCER:  Joe took my advice to come as a belly dancer, and he was the best-looking one (well, actually - the only one). 

FOOD.   Above, Myrna, Josie, Susie, Lydia and Nedy were in the front line for food.  (Oops! I forgot to take notes on who brought what.)  So, I only remember that Nick & Eden brought patola in miso soup, Beth brought sandwiches, and there was a lot of watermelon.  

HAVING FUN.  Maria & Lisa were 1st-timers to Eastlake Thursdays.  Above, they danced outside the clubhouse.

LOVELY LADIES BY THE LAKE.  As usual, there were numerous photo sessions by the lake.  Above was one featuring first-timer Adelle (a costume prize winner), Nora, Nedy and Eden (who was another prize winner).

BALLROOM.  Besides lots of line dances, there were plenty of ballroom dances.  Above, Ping danced with Elsie.  Elsie later won a prize for her attire.

TANGO.  Grand prize winners, Princess Eden and Sheik Nick, danced to "Tango Erotica". 

CHA CHA.  Above, Neriza enjoyed dancing a cha cha with first-timer Nate.

WELCOME BACK to Bert Alota and Suzanne.  Bert Alota was still recovering from back surgery, but he still ventured out onto the dance floor.

BETH IN BLUE BURQA.  Beth won a costume prize, after she was helped into a blue burqa.

THE SHEIK & HIS HAREM.  Sheik Nick was happy to be surrounded by his lovely harem.  His Princess Eden is directly behind him.  On the right, also in dazzling white, you can see Eva who was another prize winner.

  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night dance in San Diego.
