Hello Dancers,

This Thursday (October 3rd) will be another great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).
Last Thursday (September 26th) again just over 30 dancers showed up at Point Point to enjoy another dance - in very pleasant weather - with music by DJ Mel.  In one sense it was GIFT NIGHT (see photos below).

Photo Highlights from September 26th:     (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

Rosie baked a delicious strawberry-blueberry-cream layer cake and shared it with us.  Yummy!!!

Romy brought in a young avocado tree for some lucky lady.

Then Romy set a box of big delicious avocados on my table, and I had to dodge a stampede.  They were "Gone In 60 Seconds"

Holy cow!  Luna showed up after 2 or 3 years' absence.  Here she's dancing hustle with Gino to "Tonight" (by Jessica Sanchez).

Here we see Rei dancing a salsa or something with Bert A

Rosie and Dione danced nicely to the tango "El Choclo".

Then Dione danced a cumbia with Sally.

Around closing time I spotted Bert A and Rima having fun dancing to another cumbia.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point with line dances and ballroom swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  Once again this coming Thursday Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks:

Thursday  October 3rd 6-10pm, DJ Leo
Thursday  October 10th 6-10pm, DJ Mel
Thursday  October 17th 6-10pm, DJ Leo

Dance Party at Point Point This Thursday (September 26th)

Hello Dancers,

This Thursday (September 26th) will be another great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).
Last Thursday (September 19th) just over 30 dancers showed up at Point Point to enjoy another summer dance - a bit cooler than the recent previous weeks - with music by DJ Leo.  We were happy to see some dancers who rarely show up at Point Point, like Rose and Rosie and Nena, although most of them were camera-shy.

Photo Highlights from September 19th:     (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

Rose and Penny had some fun shaking to "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go".

Here we see Sally and Hector enjoying a merengue.

There were some fun line dances that we hadn't heard in a while - here the dancers enjoyed "Rumba Samba Mambo"

Towards the end of the night, DJ Leo was still smiling.

Dance Party at Point Point This Thursday (September 12th)

Hello Dancers,

This Thursday (September 12th) will be another great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).
Last Thursday (September 5th) about 30 dancers showed up at Point Point to enjoy another hot night like the week before.  In a sense it was VIP night.  Ohmee Ramos, a recent past mayor of Cavite City, Philippines, enjoyed the night with us.  DJ & DI Jun Ancho and Jona dropped in with some friends after Jun's line dance class.  DJ Leo's brother, Danny, was also at Point Point.  Trying to figure out which Blurred Lines line dance the ladies are doing, I recorded it and posted it on YouTube - but I still don't see it matching any of the dozens of versions on YouTube.

Photo Highlights from September 5th:     (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

Ohmee Ramos, a recent mayor of Cavite City, Philippines, was vacationing in San Diego, and he dropped in to dance with his former town-mates, in this case with Penny.  They were dancing to the boogie, "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go".

Here we see Edith, Hector and Cora in front doing the "Brand New Slide" line dance

A few minutes later I spotted Sally and Bert A dancing to the hustle "Cry To Me".

Jona and DJ Jun Ancho came by to see how warm it was in Point Point, and they even danced to the Swing Medley.

At the same time, Cora was dancing with Hector.

Here's the plan for the next couple weeks:

Thursday  September 12th 6-10pm, DJ Mel
Thursday  September 19th 6-10pm, DJ Leo

AND, come to Infinity on Convoy this Saturday night (Sept 14th) for DANCE-O-RIMA - it's only $15 for dinner and dancing.

See you on the dance floor,

Dance Party at Point Point This Thursday (September 5th)

Hello Dancers,

This coming Thursday (September 5th) will be another great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).
Last Thursday (August 29th) over 40 dancers showed up at Point Point to enjoy the hottest day of the year so far.  Since most all the dancers had grown up in the Philippines, I didn't hear a single complaint about the heat.  Not one.  I heard a hundred.
I saw  some people for the first time, including DJ Mel's sister Cody.  DJ Mel played great dance songs.  We saw line dancers do Blurred Lines line dance.  I couldn't tell which YouTube version they did.

Photo Highlights from August 29th:     (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

Romy (on right wearing a hat) sometimes brings in fresh produce to give to dancers.  Thursday he brought in TWO BOXES - one of avocados and one of oranges.  The boxes were picked empty in about a minute.

Here we see Sally and Hector enjoying the night club 2-step "Tal Vez Quizas"

Ernie and Florita here had fun dancing the bachata "Stand By Me".

What would the night be without Bert A showing some dance floor skills - here near closing time with Rima in a dip to the tango "La Cumparsita".
