Dance at Point Point This Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014

Hi Dance & Party People,
After 1 week off, it will be a fabulous Thursday night at Point Point Joint this week, Dec. 4, 2014.  This is YOUR INVITATION to be there.  It will be DJ Bing or DJ Mel playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).   So come on over - Party time:  from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.

No photos this week (we had no dance on Thanksgiving).

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this  week's dance party on Thursday (December 4, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  December 4, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Bing of DJ Mel

Thursday  December 11, 2014  6-10pm, DJ Leo

Thursday  December 18, 2014  6-10pm, PRE-CHRISTMAS DANCE PARTY, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514

Thursday  December 25, 2014  Christmas Day - no dance

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith
619-224-3095

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are the best mid-week ballroom dances in San Diego, with plenty of line dancing.  This is dancing in San Diego on Thursday nights - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this the best ballroom dancing lessons in San Diego.

No Dance at Point Point This Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014

OK Dancers,
THANKSGIVNG DAY falls on Thursday this week.  Sorry, but no dance is planned for Point Point on Thanksgiving.  However, if you'd like to dance in Point Point this week, you can join Nina's line dancers & dance between 6 - 9pm on Tuesday, Nov 25th.  Thursday night dancing will be back the following week (Dec. 4th).  Both Christmas & New Years Day fall on Thursday, so those will be "no dance" Thursdays, too.
Last Thursday November 20, 2014, was another fabulous night at Point Point, dancing to the music of DJ Leo.  Once again there were over 40 dancers.  The eight photos below show part of the story.        (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (NOVEMBER 20, 2014):

There were plenty of line dances - including non-stop from six to seven PM.  Above, it was "Chilly Cha Cha", with Medy, Lou, Florita & Nene in front.

A while later the line dance was "Bachata Risma" with Gloria, Nedy and Lou facing the camera.

And you know us guys prefer ballroom dances.  Above we see Dione dancing "Dos Locos" bachata with Edith.

Above, Tito & Ly were enjoying a cha cha called "Babalu".

A couple minutes later I spotted Ruben dancing "La Cumparsita" tango with Penny.

We welcomed a 1st-timer, Arnie, who was dancing the night club 2-step "Pusong Bato" with Rima.

And, I got to dance with the charming Heidi.  I think it was her 1st time at Thursday night at Point Point.  Above we were dancing the cha cha "Rico Vacilon".

There was a Mary Kay group meeting going on in the upper level Thursday night.  The Mary Kay beauty consultants have cosmetics and personal care products.  The Mary Kay folks organized a drawing to very generously give one of the dancers a Mary Kay Satin Hand Set gift basket prize.  Above, the Mary Kay sales director Remy awarded the winner, Eva, with the prize.

On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "Red Hot" (boogie), "Faithful Love" (night club 2-step), and "Luna Llena" (merengue).  And, the women loved the line dances including:  "Cowboy Cumbia", "Blurred Lines", and "Spanish Eyes".

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  When we get back to dancing in December on Thursday (December 4, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

With DJ Mel Zaragoza in the last couple weeks of his "vacation" in the Philippines, here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  November 27, 2014 - NO DANCE - THANKSGIVING DAY

Thursday  December 4, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514

Thursday  December 11, 2014  6-10pm, DJ is TBD

Thursday  December 18, 2014  6-10pm, PRE-CHRISTMAS DANCE PARTY

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

Dance at Point Point This Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014

Hello Party Dancers,
It will be another rollicking good-time DANCE PARTY this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, November 20, 2014.  This is YOUR INVITATION to be there for the pre-Thanksgiving dance.  The fabulous DJ Leo will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).   So come on over - Party time:  from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.

Last Thursday November 13, 2014, was wonderful night to remember.  Enjoying the music of DJ Bing were over 40 dancers, including Cora Anderson who reminded us of the Fil-Am Unity Group's Gala Dinner-Dance of Saturday Nov 29th.   The eight photos below show part of the story.        (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (NOVEMBER 13, 2014):

Once again there were dozens of line dances - including non-stop from six to seven PM.  Above, it was "Bachata Risma", a favorite for over a year now, with Florita front & center.

A while later the line dance was "Let's Mambo Together" with Florita and Lou in front.  Marie is dancing next to DJ Bing in back - she introduced this line dance to the Point Point crowd earlier this year.

Well, we guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Daisy (of Lito & Daisy fame) dropped in with her cousin.  Above we see Daisy dancing with Nickie.

We were happy and honored to have Rosie and Rollie show up at Point Point.  I think it was their 1st Thursday night at Point Point Joint

We rarely are honored by having Cecile drop in.  She did on Thursday, and above Mark got to dance the rumba "Reloj" with her.

Penny and Nickie were having fun dancing to the rumba "Acercate Mas".

I felt intoxicated - not from alcohol, but from getting to dance with so many wonderful women.  Above Nita danced "Bailamos" samba with me.

Marie and several of the Prime Ladies of San Diego came to remind us of the big dance this coming Friday Nov 21 that they are hosting at the church at 3737 Valley Vista Way, Bonita CA 91902.  Anyway I got to dance a swing dance with Marie.

On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "Suavemente" (merengue), "Bakit Pa" (night club 2-step), and "Could I Have This Dance" (waltz).  And, the women loved the line dances including:  "Caballero", "It's So Easy", and "Bilando Boogaloo".

Last Thursday November 6, 2014, was another night to remember with nearly 40 enjoying dancing to the music of DJ Leo.   The six photos below show part of the story.  (My camera was acting up & still on Daylight Time.)        (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (NOVEMBER 6, 2014):

The highlight of the night was Beth's birthday party.  Beth had a cake, sandwiches and Above, Beth is surrounded by 14 beautiful well-wishers.

And, of course there were muchos line dances - including non-stop from six to seven PM.  Above, it was "Aguardiente", with Eva and my Edith in front.

A while later the line dance was "A Namorada" with Penny and Gina in front.  (Thanks to DJ Bing's song recognizer, I finally got the song title "A Namorada" correct, not "Enamorada" as I had been calling it.)

And, we guys liked the ballroom dances.  Above it was Marilyn and Ping dancing to the tango "Adios Muchachos"

Later, Suzanne and Bert A were dancing to a night club 2-step.

When it came time for the recently-weekly "Bakit Pa", while some ladies were singing their hearts out, Nedy and Mel (not DJ Mel) were enjoying the night club 2-step.

On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "Let's Twist Again", "Baile Del Suavito" (salsa), and "No Matter What" (rumba).  And, the women loved the line dances including:  "Stuck On You", "Blurred Lines", and "Carinito".

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' dance party on Thursday (November 13, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Dance - Thursday Night at Point Point Joint, Nov. 6, 2014

Hi Again Dancers ,
It's going to be another fun DANCE PARTY this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, November 6, 2014.  This is YOUR INVITATION to be there.

Last Thursday October 30, 2014, was the HALLOWEEN COSTUME DANCE PARTY. How many were there?  I lost count about 60!!  The most in over a year.  Besides everyone having a rollicking good time dancing to the music of DJ Bing, Jake brought in delicious pancit to celebrate his birthday.  There were other snacks.  The six photos below show part of the story.         (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

HALLOWEEN PARTY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (OCTOBER 30, 2014):

There were line dances aplenty - including non-stop from six to seven PM.    Above, it was "Bachata Risma" again, with Lou as Pocahontas and Florita as Leopard Lady in the center.

And lots of ballroom dances.  This was Mark dancing the rumba "Acercate Mas" with Nene (as Cat Woman, I think).

I do like pink or green-haired Filipinas.  Medy came as either Lady Gaga or Lady Pink, and here she was dancing the great cha cha "Aquardiente" with Nickie, who I think was dressed up as Gaddafi.

For Best Costumes, the judges chose (left-to-right): Royce (as The Exterminator), Maria (as The Clown), Eva (as Wonder Woman), Gloria & Tito (as 70's Disco Dancers), and Rima (as The Rock Star). Edith awarded the prizes.

Rima, Florita, Gloria, Lou, and Eva sang loudly and emotionally to "Bakit Pa".  (I was so curious about the display of emotion from these costumed Point Point dancers that I enlisted Edith to try to figure out what in the song prompted fists.  We concluded it was the line, "KUNG SIYA'Y HIGIT SA AKIN, NARO'N MAN ANG PAGDARAMDAM NITO AY AKING KAKAYANIN", which translates roughly as, "Even though you're leaving me, I will survive.")

Marie dropped by with some of her Prime Ladies of San Diego to invite dancers to a Nov 21st "jam session".  In spite of my just-purchased medical "credentials", Marie declined my offer to take her pulse measurements.  But, she did allow me to dance the waltz "Could I Have This Dance" with her.

On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "Nikita" (night club 2-step), "Blue Tango", and "Amor Ala Mexicana" (cumbia).  And, the women loved the line dances including:  "It's So Easy", "It's My Soul", and a 1st-timer - "All About That Bass" introduced by Marie.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' dance party on Thursday (November 6, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

With DJ Mel Zaragoza still on "vacation" in the Philippines, here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  November 6, 2014  6-10pm, DJ Leo

Thursday  November 13, 2014  6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514

Thursday  November 20, 2014  6-10pm, DJ Leo

Thursday  November 27, 2014 - NO DANCE - THANKSGIVING DAY

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith
