RED, WHITE & BLUE Dance This Thursday Night in Old Town - June 30, 2016

Hello Dancers,  

  It'll be a RED, WHITE & BLUE Dance Party this Thursday night, June 30, 2016, four days before the 4th.  AND this dance will be back at the Old Town Community Church, 2444 Congress Street, San Diego, with some prizes for best attire.  There'll be snacks and beverages.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  DJ Bing will play line dances 6pm-7pm, followed by mixed ballroom and line dancing until 10pm.  DIRECTIONS:  Take I-5 to Old Town Avenue.  Go about 2 blocks towards Old Town (i.e., east towards hill) to San Diego Avenue (a signal lighted intersection) and turn left.  Go a block and make a slight left at a Y-intersection onto Congress Street. The church (2444 Congress St) is on the right, 2 blocks ahead.

THURSDAY JUNE 23, 2016, AT EASTLAKE 1, 2050 LAKESHORE DRIVE, CHULA VISTA:

LINE DANCING was was non-stop from 6pm-7pm.  Then, periodically until 10pm.  Above, who's smiling?  Rei, Belen, Myrna, Edith and Nedy.  They were dancing to the new "Dancing Queen"



BALLROOM.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, Neriza and Ralph were dancing to "Balla Con La Luna".



FOOD.  Above, hungry dancers tried a variety of food.  Nedy, Nina, Nora, Myrna and Edith were in the "hilera" (line) for food.  Nick & Eden brought delicious arroz caldo; Lydia and Bernie brought puto bread; and there was much more. 



CUMBIA.  Above, Nita and Gino enjoyed dancing to the cumbia "Desvelado".



CHA CHA.  Nora and Susie had fun dancing to Cha Cha.



CHA CHA.  Elma and Lito also enjoyed the Cha Cha.



LINE DANCING again, this time to "Summer Night", above, it was Edith, Nora and Nedy in the front line.

  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

Dance At Eastlake This Thursday June 23rd, 2016

Hi Again Dancers,
  Let's enjoy dancing again this Thursday night June 23, 2016, at Eastlake I's Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be complementary snacks and beverages.  From 6pm-10pm the incredible DJ Bing will play swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which is non-stop from 6-7pm.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It'll be a FUN "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.    DIRECTIONS:  Drive east on H Street to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the club parking lot - the Beach Club is behind a gated fence.

THURSDAY NIGHT AT EASTLAKE (JUNE 16, 2016):

FOOD.  Above, lovely but hungry ladies tried to get food.  Myrna, Edith, Estella, Nora and Nedy were "siksikan" (squeezed) in a short line.  Nick & Eden brought delicious champorado and banana bread; Beth brought sandwiches and corn; and there was much more. 



DJ MEL Zaragoza got the DJ duty (after last week's announcement).  Above, he wore his prize-winning Caribbean Hat while announcing.



LINE DANCING was popular, as always, especially non-stop from 6pm-7pm.  Above, dancing to "Runaway", Edith and DJ Bing were in the front line.



BALLROOM.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, RIMA and Nickie were dancing to a rumba. 



BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!  Above, Rima prepared to blow out candles on her birthday cake, while dancers sang "Happy Birthday" to her.



THE WINNERS!  Above, the Hat Contest winners with their prizes were Dolores, Nora, Beth, Perla, Susie & DJ Mel, and Marilyn & Romy



THE PIRATE QUEEN !    Well, EVA missed the main contest, but as all queens do, she made a regal appearance, this time as a Caribbean Pirate Queen, and she took home a prize.

CARIBBEAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY and HAT CONTEST at EASTLAKE this Thursday June 16, 2016

YES Dancers!
  Another contest!  We had so much elegant fun with FILIPINO NIGHT, that Nina announced CARIBBEAN NIGHT and CRAZY HATS this Thursday night June 16, 2016, at Eastlake I's Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be complementary snacks and beverages, and some Prizes for the best hats.  From 6pm-10pm the spectacular DJ Bing will play swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which is non-stop from 6-7pm.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It'll be a FUN "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.    DIRECTIONS:  Take the H Street East to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into parking lot - the Beach Club is behind the the gated fence.

THURSDAY NIGHT AT EASTLAKE (JUNE 9, 2016):

FOOD.  Above, Myrna and Marilyn were in front of the food line.  Nick & Eden brought delicious homemade lasagna, corn and garlic bread.  Nedy brought lumpier.  Beth brought sweet bananas.  1st-timers Ed & Lisa brought a cheese platter.  There was much more.



 HUSTLE/SWING.  Above, Nene and Jake danced to "Africa Boom Boom".  Later, Nene and Jake won a best dressed couple award, especially for Jake's fancy barong shirt.



CHA CHA.  Above, Elma and Lito danced to the bachata "Loco".



BY THE LAKE.  There were a million photos taken.  Above was a good one.  Ladies took a break from dancing and eating to pose outside.  Eden, second from the left, later won one of the best dressed prizes.



THREE WINNERS.  Dolores and Nedy later won prizes for best dress, and Eva later won a best couple prize with Dwayne.



COUPLES PARADED.  Above, winners Dwayne and Eva walked around the room.



MARILYN and ROMY won the top couple's prize.  Also, if I got the story right, recently Marilyn became the Mrs Philippines of San Diego's FilAm Unity Group of CA.  Congratulations Marilyn! 



ALL WINNERS.  Above, Nina managed to get all the best Filipino Night attire winners and "escorts" to line up for photos.



LINE DANCING was was non-stop from 6pm-7pm.  Then, periodically until 10pm.  Above Beth and Rei were in the front line dancing to "Take Me Away"



BALLROOM.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, Ping and Elsie were dancing to the cha cha "Smooth".



BEFORE WE GO.  Because there was so much fun & glamor, many dancers stayed past ten for more photos, like the photo above.

FILIPINO NIGHT DANCE PARTY at EASTLAKE this Thursday June 9, 2016




OK Party People,
  Let's celebrate or commemorate Philippine Independence Day with a FILIPINO NIGHT DANCE PARTY this Thursday night June 9, 2016, at Eastlake I's Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be complementary snacks and beverages, and some Prizes for the best Filipino outfits.  So, dig out whatever traditional or non-traditional Filipino clothing you have.  From 6pm-10pm the spectacular DJ Bing will play swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which is non-stop from 6-7pm.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It'll be a FUN "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.    DIRECTIONS:  Take the H Street East to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then right onto Lakeshore Drive. FOOD.  Estella, Beth and Myrna are in front of the food line.  Once again Nick & Eden brought something great:  homemade chicken noodle soup and rolls.  Nina, Gigi, Belen and Rei brought a big dessert tray and banana bread.  Beth brought a fruit tray.  There were chili dogs and much more. 



LINE DANCING was was non-stop from 6pm-7pm.  Then, periodically until 10pm.  Above Rei, Beth and Gigi were in the front line dancing to "Hurts So Good".  



BALLROOM.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, Nick & Eden were dancing to the bachata "No Me Entendio".



MORE LINE DANCING, this time to "Africa Boom Boom" it was Nedy, DJ Bing and Eva in the front line.
