Let's Dance at Point Point Joint this Thursday Night May 29, 2014

Hello All You Fun-Loving Dancers,

We're going to have fun again this coming Thursday May 29, 2014, in Point Point Joint, when the fabulous DJ Mel Zaragoza will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).  This is your invitation to come on over and join the fun & frolic from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, National City.

Last Thursday May 22, 2014, had been advertised as "Wear-Your-Shorts NIght", but I was the only guy in shorts.  Nevertheless, 35 happy dancers showed up on a cool night at Point Point Joint to enjoy DJ Mel's dance music - the eight photos below tell part of the story.  I thanked Several of the dancers who had been in the YouTube video of "Beguine Per Sognare Line Dance" that was recorded at the previous Thursday night dance party at Point Point Joint on May 15th.         (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (May 22nd):

Nene danced almost every dance, and even Mark got up to dance a couple times.  Here they're dancing a night club 2-step.

Meanwhile across the floor, Nedy and Jake were dancing to the same night club 2-step.

There were lots of line dances, as usual.  Here the dancers are enjoying one of the newest line dances to our Thursday night crowd, "Carinito", with Penny in front.   (I think it was the first Thursday night that "Caballero" was NOT played in a couple years.)

Estrelle, Solly and Nene had fun dancing to "Twist".

A few minutes later, Eva and DJ Dwayne danced to a night club 2-step.

Marilyn and Jake were also dancing to the same night club 2-step.

A bit later, Edith D and Edith R and Suzanne were dancing up a storm to "Poker Face".

Rima came by, and here she was dancing a cha cha with Ruben.

NINA'S TUESDAY NIGHT LINE DANCERS HAVE ONE MORE WEEK OFF.  NINA RETURNS TUESDAY JUNE 3RD.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (May 29th), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Wear-Your-Shorts Dance Party at Point Point Joint this Thursday Night May 22, 2014

OK You Dance Party People,

It'll be a lot cooler this coming Thursday May 22, 2014, than last Thursday May 15, 2014, when besides the fires in North County it was warm in Point Point Joint.  That inspired folks to designate this coming Thursday as Wear Shorts Night on the dance floor.  This is your invitation to join in the fun & frolic from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, National City.  The incredible DJ Mel Zaragoza will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.)

Last Thursday May 15, 2014, was fun with about 30 dancers in Point Point Joint.  See info about our brand new YOU TUBE video recorded Thursday below.  These eight pictures below tell some of the story about last week.      (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (May 15th):

Here you see that I got to dance a Manila swing with Edith R.

DJ Mel Zaragoza has been teaching the "Carinito" cumbia line dance for a few weeks.  Here Florita and Lita are in front dancing it.  (I notice that the singers, Sparx, also sing another of our favorites, "Esta Noche".)

"Blurred Lines" continues to be a favorite line dance, as you can see.

Like I said, it was hot last Thursday.  So, they danced to "Disco Inferno".  Bert, Suzanne & Nedy in front.

The master of the dip, Bert Alota, dips Suzanne during "Hernando's Hideaway" tango

Ruben and Florita were dancing up a storm to "Cumbia de la Cobra".   (I see that cute cumbia is by Fito Olivares, who also recorded a former Point Point favorite, "Cumbia Semana".)

Well, two of the VIPs last Thursday, Kelly Medina and Nene, were looking mighty good dancing the beautiful rumba dance "Esta Noche".

Just about closing time and Lita and Florita were still dancing.

NEW YOU TUBE VIDEO RECORDED MAY 15th - "Beguine Per Sognare Line Dance"

This line dance to the rumba music of "Beguine Per Sognare" was shown to Nina's line dancers in March by Dante of the South Bay Terraces Seniors Assn.  I say, "Thank you" to the dozen or so people who danced it last Thursday for this video

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (May 15th), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Dance Time Fun Party at Point Point Joint this Thursday Night May 15, 2014

Hello Dance Party Lovers,

It's dance party time again this Thursday May 15, 2014, from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, National City, and this is your invitation to join in the festivities.  The fabulous DJ Mel Zaragoza will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.)

Last Thursday May 8, 2014, was Mexican Night, and it was fun with lots of food, too.  These nine pictures below tell some of the story about last week.      (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

TUESDAY NIGHT LINE DANCING (May 6, 2014):

Was I surprised!  Nineteen dancers showed up - as many as I had seen on a Tuesday night in years.  What all was danced?  "Happy" and "Mamita Mia" were two.  About 30 minutes was spent on "Beguine Per Sognare" getting ready for a YOU TUBE video-recording this coming Thursday.  And above - they're dancing "Blurred Lines" with Claire in front who had not been at Nina's Tuesday night for years.

Here are 18 of the dancers.  With Nina going for a 3-week vacation in Europe, Tuesday (May 6, 2014) was the last Tuesday night line dancing in Point Point Joint until June 3, 2014.

THURSDAY's MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY (May 8th):

DJ Mel Zaragoza was dancing in full MEXICAN NIGHT costume here.

Bert Alota and Suzanne led a "dress rehearsal" of the line dance "Beguine Per Sognare" for a planned YOU TUBE video recording of it this coming Thursday.  Twelve of the sixteen dancers who did a great YOU TUBE video of "It's My Soul" the previous week were at Point Point Joint this past Thursday night, and I thanked them.

Nene should get an award for Most Improved Dancer.  She was dancing almost every dance.  Here she was dancing a waltz with Jake.

Romy and Marilyn won the Best Costume prizes, being awarded in this picture by Nina and Edith.

Rima showed up for the party, and here she was dancing a cumbia with Ruben.

There were 35 dancers Thursday night at Point Point Joint, until about closing time when RMX'ers Esta and Nick and Lulu popped in along with about a half dozen other folks, probably also from the RMX Dance Group.  So, the music kept playing past closing time.  Here Florita, Bert Alota and Suzanne were leading some line dance.

When it was the last dance of the night, "Goodnight My Love", Florita and Lita danced to it.

TUESDAY NIGHT LINE DANCING (April 29th):

As we approach the 4-year anniversary of Tuesday night line dancing in Point Point, even warm weather does not deter these dancers.  Here are eleven of them, including Bob Nobleza in the white shirt who had not popped in Tuesday night in about a year.  Nina is getting ready for a 3-week vacation in Europe, and this Tuesday (May 6, 2014) will be the last Tuesday night line dancing in Point Point Joint until June 3, 2014.  What was practiced?  Well, a new one for us, "Mamita Mia", got some attention.

THURSDAY NIGHT (May 1st):

Nene was enjoying her 3rd week at Thursday night at Point Point Joint, getting more courageous on the dance floor each time.  Here she was dancing a cha cha with Jake.

There were 30 dance-party people at Point Point Joint again last Thursday.  Here we see about 10 of them on the floor for the line dance "Happy", which is still relatively new to Point Point dancers.

Bert Alota dipped Suzanne during a cumbia.

Later in the night, Nickie and Lou were looking good and having fun dancing to a salsa.

At the same time Lolita, in her 2nd Thursday night at Point Point Joint, was dancing to the same salsa with Ruben.

A few dances later, Lolita danced a night club 2-step with Jake.

The party kept going till 10pm when Florita and Lita danced to "Goodnight My Love".

NEW YOU TUBE VIDEO:
We recorded another line dance video Thursday night.  Click this link: "It's My Soul", featuring about 15 of the 30 dancers who were at Point Point Joint Thursday night.

With over 30 in the Joint, about 15 got up to dance this line dance - mostly the women.
