ARABIAN NIGHTS Dance Party This Thursday Night in Eastlake - July 21, 2016

Hello Dancers,  
  ARABIAN NIGHTS Dance Party this Thursday night, July 21, 2016 !!!  We asked what to wear, and the suggestion was "belly dancers" and "Ali Baba and 40 Thieves" !!  Oh well, whatever.  It'll be in the Eastlake Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista, with some prizes for best attire.  There'll be snacks and beverages.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  DJ Bing will play line dances 6pm-7pm, followed by mixed ballroom and line dancing until 10pm.  DIRECTIONS:  Take the H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into parking lot - the Clubhouse is behind the the gated fence.

THURSDAY JULY 14, 2016, HAWAIIAN NIGHT at Eastlake I Clubhouse:

FOOD.  Wow!  There was even more this week!  Above, Belen, Rei, Edith, Nora, Patty, Eden and Vickie lined up for food.  Nick & Eden brought sloppy joes with buns; Beth brought arroz caldo; Rei brought empanadas; Belen brought giniling; Josie & Romy brought pancit; and there was a lot more.

LOVELY LADIES BY THE LAKE.  As usual, there were numerous photo sessions by the lake.  Above was one, with ladies in their Hawaiian outfits.

HAWAIIAN NIGHT ATTIRE LINE:  Susie, Terry, Eden*, Neriza, Rei*, Maria, Patty, Elma*, Josie*, Estrelle*, Nina and Edith.  * = prize winners 

BALLROOM.  Above, Eden and Nick danced nicely to a tango.

CABALLERO.  LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6pm-7pm, then periodically until 10pm.  Above, dancing past 10 in the front line to "Caballero", it was Edith and Neriza.


A  SILENT  PRAYER:

KELLY MEDINA DIED.  There was a moment of silent prayer for Kelly Medina (pictured above) who died July 12th, and for victims of a terrorist murder spree in Nice, France, the day before.  Kelly Medina was well known in San Diego's Filipino-American community.  In the photo above, he won Best Attire at RED, WHITE & BLUE Night on Thursday July 3, 2014, at Point Point Joint.  Among other things, Kelly was a Navy veteran, author of books, dancer, and an officer in the Masons.  The public is invited to a Masons' memorial service for him this Wednesday July 20th at 6pm, and viewing on Thursday July 21st, both at Glen Abbey Mortuary in Bonita (619-746-7565).

  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best free line dance lessons in Chula Vista.
