Join a DANCE PARTY this Thursday night January 4th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation. Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. The great DJ Nickie Bascos will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.
DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive. Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive. The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.
Last Thursday (December 28th) was MASQUERADE & NEW YEARS NIGHT DANCE at Eastlake, with 25 dancers enjoying DJ Nickie Bascos's great music, as you can see in the 5 photos below. THURSDAY DECEMBER 28, 2017, MASQUERADE & NEW YEARS NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:
LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night. Above, dancing to "Carinito", a longtime line dance favorite on Thursday nights, it was DJ Nickie in front.
FOOD LINE. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits for very delicious food. Nick & Eden brought beef afritada with vegetables and rice. Rei brought Greek salad. Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought sotanghon. Josie brought macaroni salad and coffee. Estrelle brought spam and rice. Nene brought espasol. Zeny brought rice cake. Rosa brought puto. Elma brought ham. Remy brought spam and oranges. And, there was more.
BLURRED LINES line dance is still favorite. Above Geraldine was one of the dancers.
EVA, across the floor, was also dancing to "Blurred Lines" line dance.
BALLROOM DANCING. We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, I got to dance a cha cha with Rosa.

FOOD LINE. Above, Nina was ready to give a blessing for the large amount of food. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Nick & Eden brought corned beef and pan de sale. Geraldine brought embutido. Karina brought pork loins. Sheila brought dessert. Beth brought sotanghon and guava. Estrelle brought tuna sandwiches. Rei brought Greek salad and summon. Romy brought coffee from Maui. Cindy and Chito brought baked chicken and Hawaiian bread. Nene brought puto and ube leche flan. Jake brought leche flan. Zeny brought fruit salad. Delia brought pasta alfredo. Dwayne and Eva fraught leche flan. Edith F and Susie brought assorted desserts. And, there was more.
BALLROOM DANCING. We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, Neriza and Romy danced to the cha cha "Sofrito".
GIFT EXCHANGE. Above the gift table was filled before the gift exchange began. "Thank You" to everyone who brought gifts.
MISTLETOE occupied some people's attention, mostly women staying away from it so they wouldn't get kissed. Above, Romi kissed Geraldine under the mistletoe.
UNDER THE MISTLETOE. We also spotted Connie and Rick kissing.
CHITO and ROMY were trying to figure out who would kiss who under the mistletoe.
NEW DANCE SHOES for CHRISTMAS looked good and caught my eye. I heard some dance shoes were bought from on-line stores like www.LightInTheBox.com

Nedy brought corned beef brisket and cabbage. Karina brought banana bread. Sheila brought pandan gelatin. Ralph brought baked chicken. Suzanne brought turkey chili and toppings. Beth brought cantaloupe and oranges. Estrelle brought pancit #5 (beef & vegetables) and rice, and a BIG CAKE. Rosa and Myrna brought chicken apretada. Rei brought pasta salad. Josie & Romy brought apples and oranges. Cindy and Chito brought salted & peppered squid and chicken wings. Nene brought puto. Jake brought leche flan. Carmen brought puto and potato salad. And, there was more.
BALLROOM DANCING. We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, Angie and Nando danced to the night club 2-step "Yo Te Amo". Angie also led dancers in the line dance "S'Aimera", a San Diego Filipino-American line dance favorite since Angie choreographed it in 1999.
NIGHT CLUB 2-STEP. Above, also dancing to "Yo Te Amo", it was Nene and Jake.
BIRTHDAY PARTY. Getting ready to cut the cake, Estrelle, Chito and Carmen were celebrating their December birthdays.
SERENADE. San Diego's Filipino Elvis, Romy serenaded the birthday celebrants with his rendition of "How Did You Know".

RUMBA. Romi and Geraldine were also dancing to the lovely rumba "Carino Mio".
WESTERN ATTIRE WINNERS, couples division, next to judges Nina and Edith, were Chito & Cindy, Romy & Josie, Connie & Rick, and Geraldine & Romi.
SINGLES ATTIRE WINNERS were Dolly and Sheila.
CHA CHA. Rima and Mel danced cha cha to "Smooth".
