RED WHITE & BLUE Dance at Point Point Joint this Thursday July 2, 2015

Let's Celebrate!
Let's dance & party 2 days before July 4th!  RED WHITE & BLUE will be the theme this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, July 2, 2015.  Bing Villafuerte will be back in the DJ booth playing swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which has been non-stop from 6-7pm lately.  This is your invitation to join the party.  Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).  So come on over - Party time:  from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.

Last Thursday June 25, 2015,  DJ Mel Zaragoza was back at Point Point playing to a happy crowd of over 40 dancers.  The following five photos below tell part of the story.           (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (JUNE 25, 2015):

Ruben and Dolores looked great dancing the "Honky Tonk Twist" boogie.

There were dozens of line dances, including non-stop from 6pm until 7pm.  Above Medy, Nita, Edith and Mona took a few seconds' break from dancing "Runaway" to pose for a picture.

A while later Edith and Nora were in front dancing the line dance "Somethin Stupid".

Tito and Gloria looked colorful and great dancing to a cha cha.

Getting near closing time the dancers didn't miss a step dancing to the relatively new line dance "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel", with Nina, Bing and Belen in front.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this week's Dance Party on Thursday (July 2, 2015), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  July 2, 2015  6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, RED WHITE & BLUE Dance Party

Thursday  July 9, 2015  6-10pm, DJ Mel Zaragoza

Thursday  July 16, 2015  6-10pm, DJ TBD

Thursday  July 23, 2015  6-10pm, DJ TBD

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best cha cha lessons in San Diego.

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (JUNE 18, 2015):

I think the highlight of the night was The HUGE amount of melted nacho cheese and bags of tortilla strips that Medy brought in.  Yummy!  Above Medy helped Beth get a bowl of nachos and jalapeno peppers.

Plenty of line dancing as usual, including non-stop from 6pm-7pm.  Above Eva and Medy were in front dancing to "Under The Boardwalk", which DJ Mel helped resurrect from the archives.

Merci and Lito enjoyed dancing the cha cha to the song "Cuando Me Enamoro".

Cora Anderson dropped by to give dancers more information about the dancing schedule at the brand new Cora Anderson Dance Studio at 8990 Miramar Road, San Diego.  Above Cora was dancing with Ruben.

Line dancers never get tired.  Above they were dancing at closing time to "Bachata Risma", with Nora and Elsie in front.

LAST TUESDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (JUNE 16, 2015):

Of course there was plenty of line dancing from 6pm to 9pm.

Nina made sure that there was plenty of 5th Anniversary Party food. Most of it was from Point Point's kitchen.

And, then it was back to more line dancing with Nedy and Eden in front.

Here we see 15 of the over 20 line dancers who were at Point Point Joint last Tuesday for the 5th Anniversary celebration.

Let's Dance at Point Point Joint this Thursday June 18, 2015

Hello Again Party Dancers,
Let's have some fun on the floor of Point Point Joint again this Thursday night, June 18, 2015.  This is your invitation to join the party.  The great DJ Bing will be playing swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which has been non-stop from 6-7pm lately.  Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).  So come on over - Party time:  from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.

Last Thursday June 11, 2015, was FILIPINO NIGHT prior to the June 12th Philippine Independence Day, and DJ Bing played to 60 dancers who dropped in at various times at the Joint.  The following six photos below tell part of the story.           (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

FILIPINO NIGHT (THURSDAY NIGHT) AT POINT POINT JOINT (JUNE 11, 2015):

Plenty of line dancing as usual.  There were many early birds for non-stop line dancing from 6pm-7pm.  Above they were line dancing to "Totoy Bibo" with Lito and Ruben in front.

Later on the floor was packed with exuberant line dancers for "Bachata Risma".  DJ Bing, Beth and Belen were in front.

It was FILIPINO NIGHT, and many dancers put on very nice Filipino clothing.  Most of them lined up for a group photo.  Left to right:  Fe, Gloria*, Eva*, Beth*, Marilyn*, Estrelle*, Esther, Edith*, Rei, Nene, and Lou.  Kneeling are Tito*, Dwayne*, and Cesar.  (I lost track of all the prize winners, but I put an asterisk (*) by the names of the winners I remember.)

Gloria and Tito were dancing to the hustle-swing "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel" while others did a line dance to it.

Medy, Lou, Eva, Gloria and Rima were intensely singing along with "Bakit Pa".  Edith took this photo as the singers were pointing at me!!  Why?  (see next photo)

Well, Esther returned to San Diego for the summer, and I got to dance with her to "Bakit Pa".  I had to ask Esther why the "Bakit Pa" singers (in the previous photo) were pointing at me.  Esther said the lyrics have something to do with a guy who is not being very nice to his girlfriend.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this week's Dance Party on Thursday (June 18, 2015), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
