Hello Dancers,
Let's dance again at Eastlake's "Beachside Clubhouse" this Thursday May 12th, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista 91913. There'll be snacks, beverages, and prizes. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation. Dancers are welcome to bring a dish to share. DJ Bing will play line dances 6pm-7pm, followed by mixed ballroom and line dancing until 10pm. DIRECTIONS: Take the H Street East to Eastlake Drive. Go right one block and turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into parking lot - the clubhouse is beyond the white gate.
LAST THURSDAY's CINCO DE MAYO DANCE PARTY. Wow! The food and frolic was fun! Sorry, I was eating & forgot to photo the food. Who brought what? Nick & Eden brought 2 huge trays of taco salad. Romy & Marilyn came all the way from Fallbrook with a huge bowl of guacamole dip. Gigi brought a huge kettle of Albondigas Soup. Nina brought macaroni salad, and many other people brought lots of food. And, there was dancing: DJ Bing played for over 50 dancers. The seven photos below show part of the fun night. (Note: If the following 7 photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
CINCO DE MAYO DANCE, THURSDAY MAY 5, 2016, AT EASTLAKE 1, 2050 LAKESHORE DRIVE, CHULA VISTA
LINE DANCING was was non-stop from 6pm-7pm. Then, periodically until 10pm. Above, Eleonor and Nina were in front dancing "Let's Get It On".
BALLROOM. We guy preferred the ballroom dances. Above, dancing cumbia to "Rosalinda", it was Nick and Eden.
BORRACHO Y LOCO. "Bachata Risma" continues to be a popular line dance. Above, Neriza, Eleonor, Rei and Solly were in the front line.
LINE DANCING to "Take Me Away", above it was Edith, Nedy, Gigi and Rei in front, sort of.
SPECIAL NUMBERS. While Romy, formerly San Diego's Filipino Elvis, sang "Bailamos" and "I Need To Know", his back-up dancers surrounded him. Oh yes, once again people took millions of pictures, even taking pictures of pictures.
WINNERS. Above, Edith and Nina are on opposite ends of the line of winners of the Cinco De Mayo attire contest. Dwayne & Eva won a couple's prize. Mike won the Grand Solo Prize. Romy & Marilyn won a couple's prize, as did the other Romy and Josie.
CABALLERO was a good line dance for the Cinco De Mayo Party (although it's actually sung in the Italian language). Above, dancing "Caballero", it was Edith, Rei and Mona in the front line, sort of.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego. While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best free tango dancing lessons in San Diego.
