Hello Dancers,
You are invited to the FLAPPERS & ROARING 20's NIGHT DANCE PARTY this Thursday night October 5th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. (Note: If the attire mystifies you, like it does me, it consists of fringes on dresses, and rows of flapping fringes on dresses. For guys, it is often fancy black & white clothing. Halloween stores often have such costumes.) There'll be prizes for best attire, lots of dancing, fun, food and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation. Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. The great DJ Mel Zaragoza will play one more time for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.
DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive. Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive. The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.
Last Thursday (September 28th) was POLKA DOT NIGHT at Eastlake, with 30 dancers enjoying dancing as you can see in the following 4 photos. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are. If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)
FOOD LINE. Above, Nina was getting ready to give a blessing for the food for the Polka Dot dancers. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Nick & Eden brought salt & pepper pork chops, chow mein, and rice. Ralph brought baked chicken. Beth brought mango. Karina brought pasta. Rei & Belen brought puto and macaroni salad. Sheila brought fruits. Romi & Geraldine brought banana cake. Josie & Romy brought mango. And, there was more.
POLKA DOT NIGHT LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night. Above, dancing to "Quizas Si, Quizas No", a relatively new bachata line dance for Eastlake Thursday nights, it was Edith, Romy and Josie more or less in the front line.
BALLROOM DANCING. We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) and Belen were dancing swing to "All Shook Up".
THE POLKA DOT WINNERS LINE, after prizes were awarded by judges Nina and Edith, included Neriza, Geraldine, Nene, Karina, Josie, Eva and Rima, along with Romi and Jake.
FLASHBACK to POLKA DOT NIGHT LAST YEAR (2016):
LAST YEAR's POLKA DOT DANCERS were enjoying a line dance favorite - "La Ultima Noche" - with Neriza, Edith, Josie and Belen in the front line - on September 15, 2016.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
