BIRTHDAY DANCE PARTY in EASTLAKE This Thursday October 12, 2017

Hello Dancers,  

  Join a BIRTHDAY DANCE PARTY this Thursday night October 12th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food and beverages, and roses for ladies with October birthdays and balloons. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The incredible DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm. (Note: Across town at the same times, DJ Mel Zaragoza will play for the first Thursday night line & ballroom dancing at Cora Anderson's Dance Studio.) 

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

Last Thursday (October 5th) night was FLAPPERS & ROARING 20's NIGHT dance at Eastlake, with 25 happy dancers enjoying the great music of DJ Mel's final Thursday at Eastlake, as you can see in the 10 photos below.  (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are.  If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)

THURSDAY OCTOBER 5, 2017, FLAPPERS & ROARING 20's DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night.  Above, dancing to "Back In My Life (Together Again)" line dance, it was Edith in front of Karina, Bing and Josie. 

GRAND PRIZE WINNERS Nick and Eden were really dressed up.  

ROARING 20's ATTIRE tended to be black & white, and Nene looked great in all black.

SHEILA & KARINA wore fabulous Roaring 20's dresses.  They later won some best attire prizes.

FOOD LINE.  Above, Nina was ready to give a blessing for the food. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Nick & Eden brought beef stroganoff. Karina brought banana bread. Sheila brought cassava cake. Belen brought apple crumble coffee cake. Josie & Romy brought macaroni & bread. Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought seaweed salad and melon. And, there was more. 

BALLROOM DANCING.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, Bert Alota and Suzanne were dancing night club 2-step to "Eres Tu". 

SELFIES were taken by the hundreds.  Above, one of the best was Geraldine, Romy and Nedy.  You can see more on Nedy's Facebook.

LADIES lined up for another self.  Again from Nedy's Fecebook, it was Rei, Nene, Nedy and Josie. 

ROARING 20's WINNERS, Eden, Sheila, Karina, Romi, Geraldine, Lydia, Susie and DJ Mel, lined up with prizes from judges Nina and Edith.   

FOR THE LAST TIME, DJ Mel Zaragoza and Susie roll the DJ equipment out of the Eastlake clubhouse.  DJ Mel has graduated to the Cora Anderson Dance Studio.

Thursday, October 12, 2017: BIRTHDAY PARTY DANCE NIGHT at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Roses for birthday girls. Balloons. DJ Bing Villafuerte. 
   Also starting on October 12th: DJ Mel Zaragoza will be the DJ at new Thursday night dancing at Cora Anderson Dance Studio (CADS), at 8990 Miramar Road, Suite 250, San Diego CA 92126, making for a weekly 3-night stretch (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) of dancing at CADS.

Thursday, October 26, 2017:  HALLOWEEN DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Prizes for best attire. DJ Bing Villafuerte.
   Also, DJ Mel Zaragoza in 3rd week of Thursday night dancing at Cora Anderson Dance Studio.


Thursday, November 2, 2017:  DANCE Party at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. DJ Bing Villafuerte.
   Also, DJ Mel Zaragoza in 4th week of Thursday night dancing at Cora Anderson Dance Studio.


  It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights, with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
