Hi Dancers!
Eastlake Clubhouse is reserved by someone else this Thursday, so our dance party this Thursday night, May 25, 2017, will be in the OLD TOWN COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2444 Congress Street, San Diego. There'll be lots of dancing and snacks and beverages. A $5 donation will be requested. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation. Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. The great DJ Mel Zaragoza will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-5 to Old Town Avenue. Go about 2 blocks towards Old Town to San Diego Avenue and turn left. Go a block and make a slight left at a Y-intersection onto Congress Street. The church (2444 Congress St) is on the right, 2 blocks ahead.
Last Thursday (May 18th) was PROM NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake. About 30 happy dancers enjoyed dancing to DJ Bing's music, as you can see in the 8 photos below. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are. If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)
THURSDAY MAY 18, 2017, PROM NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:
LOVELY LADIES by the LAKE. Ladies, in their Prom Dance finery, took a break from line dancing to pose by the lake. I think you know who they all are.
FOOD TIME. Above, Nina gave a blessing for the food. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Beth brought fruit salad. Nedy brought cookies. Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought pancit canton. Elma brought sushi. Ralph brought baked chicken. DJ Mel brought stir fried vegetables and fried rice. Suzanne & Bert Alota brought papaya. Rei & Belen brought chicken nuggets. And there was more.
DJ BING had flowers decorating his DJ table.
NICK & EDEN. We welcomed Nick & Eden back to Thursday night dancing after their time off while Nick recovered from a broken arm and complications.
LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night. Above, folks enjoyed dancing the "Under The Boardwalk" line dance.
GRAND PRIZE WINNERS Bert Alota and Suzanne came wearing great Prom Night attire.
WINNERS of Best Prom Night Attire lined up with their prizes and with judges Nina and Edith. You probably know all the winners' names.
BALLROOM DANCING. We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, I got to dance with Gigi to the cumbia "Amor Ala Mexicana".

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.
Hoping to see you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night swing dance in San Diego.
