Prom Night Dance Party at Eastlake This Thursday May 18, 2017

Dancers - Let's Party!

Let's have a PROM NIGHT DANCE PARTY this Thursday night May 18th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.

Well, no need for tuxedos or such fancy stuff, but there'll be prizes for best attire, and lots of dancing and snacks and beverages.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The fabulous DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.

DIRECTIONS:  Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

Last Thursday (May 11th) was MAY BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, featuring only one birthday celebrant!!  Anyway, thanks in part to five 1st-timers, three guys named Romy, and some rarely-seen dancers, there were 35 happy dancers who enjoyed dancing to DJ Mel's music, as you can see in the 7 photos below.  (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are.  If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)

THURSDAY MAY 11, 2017, BIRTHDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

FOOD TIME.  Above, Nina gave a blessing for the food, and said a prayer for Nick Enriquez who is now at home, recovering from a broken arm and complications.  Here's a "Thank You", and some credits.  Beth brought arroz caldo with eggs.  Nedy brought guinataan.  Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought pancit canton.  Elma brought rolled sandwiches.  Ralph brought baked chicken.  Rima brought macaroni salad.  Mike brought chips.  Becky & Aniel brought pizza.  And there was more.

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night.  Above, Myrna, Daisy and Edith were in the front line for "Open Book", a relatively new line dance for Thursday night dancers.

BALLROOM DANCING.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, 1st-timer Dhen Dhen danced with her husband Romy to the night club 2-step "I Can't Stop Loving You"

IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR.  They were dancing to the more-or-less hip hop song, "Family Affair".  In front above, it was Neriza, Nedy, Edith, Myrna, and 1st-timers Mary Jane and Dhen Dhen.

BIRTHDAY PARTY.  Edith was the only May birthday celebrant that I could find in the party, so she was the focus of attention.  DJ Bing missed his April birthday celebration, so he joined Edith to blow out the candles of the birthday cake held by Ruben.

SERENADING Edith with a romantic ballad, Romy was singing on the wireless microphone while Edith held her roses and balloons.

BIRTHDAY KISS.  I got to kiss Edith during her birthday celebration.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night rumba dance in San Diego.

(2)  You can click on Links to YouTube MUSIC VIDEOS and other websites that are mentioned in this email (the links are colored like this of "Open Book").  You can get more info at websites like: this email group's Home Page and Upcoming Events.

(3)  If you do NOT want these weekly emails anymore, you can "unsubscribe" by e-mailing or calling me (619-224-3095).
