Dance Party at Eastlake This Thursday March 23, 2017
Hi Again Dancers!
Let's party again at the Dance Party this Thursday night March 23rd at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. There'll be lots of dancing and snacks and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation. Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. The incredible DJ Mel Zaragoza will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.
DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive. Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive. The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.
Last Thursday (March 16th) was the ST. PATRICK'S DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, featuring plenty of green. Thanks in part to several first-timers and North County folks, there were about 45 happy dancers who enjoyed dancing to DJ Bing's music. There was a lot of things happening, as you can see in the 8 photos below. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are. If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)
THURSDAY MARCH 23, 2017, ST. PATRICK'S Dance Party at Eastlake:
LOVELY LADIES by the LAKE. With Daylight Saving Time in effect, photos at the edge of Eastlake will be numerous until later this year. Above, it was Nina, Vicky, Nene and Nedy.
LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night. Above, Edith and Martha were in the front line, more or less, for "Sugar Sugar".
FOOD LINE. Above, Nina was giving a blessing for the food. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Nick & Eden brought corned beef & cabbage and potatoes & carrots. Beth brought mixed fruit. Rei brought suman and puto. Nedy brought arroz caldo. Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought pancit, salad and pineapple. Jake brought leche flan. Nina brought Danish pastries. Tito brought a cake. And, there was more.
SELFIES were being taken all night long. Above, Nedy, Olivia and Aida posed nicely for a selfie.
BALLROOM DANCING. We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, Suzanne was back, dancing a tango with Bert Alota.
FIRST and LAST. Above, first-timer Olivia was dancing to "All Of Me" with Mark. Mark has been a Thursday night regular for many years, but he said that the St. Patrick's Dance might be his last time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Above, Romy, Gloria and Florita were holding a birthday cake during Happy Birthday congratulations. Florita was back in San Diego for a while, visiting from her home in Cebu, Philippines.
ST. PATRICK'S NIGHT BEST ATTIRE WINNERS. Winners, all looked great. Nick & Eden were named 1st-place winners, but they declined to accept a prize. Nina, Rei and Edith were judges.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night dance in San Diego.
