POLKA DOT DANCE PARTY in Eastlake This Thursday September 15, 2016

Hello Dancers,  
  While today we solemnly observe the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks, let's plan on going back to Eastlake for a POLKA DOT NIGHT Dance Party this coming Thursday night, September 15, 2016.  There'll be snacks, beverages, and prizes for best attire.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The fabulous DJ Bing Villafuerte will play line dances 6pm-7pm, followed by mixed ballroom and line dancing until 10pm.  
DIRECTIONS:  Take the H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into parking lot - the Clubhouse is behind the the gated fence.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2016, Birthday Celebration Dance Party at Old Town Community Church:

THE FOOD LINE.  We had plenty of great food.  Nick & Eden brought taco salad.  Beth brought pancit canton.  Nene brought pancit malabon, cheese puto, and pichi-pichi.  DJ Mel brought mussel soup. There was baked chicken and a lot more.

LINE DANCING was non stop from 6 until 7pm.  Above, dancers were dancing to a favorite - "Caballero" - with Neriza, Edith and Nedy in the front line.

BALLROOM DANCING.  Yes, we guys preferred ballroom dancing.  Above, Remie and Cet were dancing to the rumba "Hey". 

BIRTHDAY PEOPLE who have birthdays in September gathered around a birthday cake as Eden prepared to blow out the candles, while the Happy Birthday Song was played.  Heidi, Eden and Nene got roses. Rudy and Daniel got balloons. 

NENE's CAKE.  Then, Jake brought in a large cake (my camera's date/time covers the writing).  The writing on the cake is "Happy Birthday NENE, 9/2016 from Jake", all written below a musical staff design. 

BIRTHDAY GIRL Heidi danced an uptempo dance with DJ Mel Zaragoza in the photo above.


BACK TWO YEARS TO 2014:

POLKA DOT NIGHT WINNER NITZ, above, was awarded a prize by Edith in Point Point Joint on January 2, 2014.

Thursday, September 22, 2016:  Dance Party in Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913.  DJ Mel Zaragoza.


Thursday, September 29, 2016:  Dance Party in Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913.  DJ Bing Villafuerte.


Thursday, October 6, 2016:  Dance Party in Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913.  DJ Mel Zaragoza.


  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night salsa dancing in San Diego.
