CAKE & ROSES BIRTHDAY DANCE PARTY in Old Town This Thursday September 8, 2016

OK Dancers!
If you have a birthday in September, come join your party!  Besides cake, Birthday girls get roses.  The dance party will be this Thursday night, September 8, 2016, in the Old Town Community Church, 2444 Congress Street, San Diego.  There'll also be snacks and beverages.  A $5 donation will be requested.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The great DJ Mel Zaragoza will play line dances 6pm-7pm, followed by mixed ballroom and line dancing until 10pm.
DIRECTIONS:  Take I-5 to Old Town Avenue.  Go about 2 blocks towards Old Town to San Diego Avenue and turn left.  Go a block and make a slight left at a Y-intersection onto Congress Street. The church (2444 Congress St) is on the right, 2 blocks ahead.

Last Thursday, September 1, 2016, DJ Bing Villafuerte played in Old Town for about happy 20 dancers, as you can see in the following 5 photos.  (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are.  If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2016, at Old Town Community Church:

THE FOOD LINE.  Once again the food was great.  Nick & Eden brought picadillo and rice.  Beth brought fruit.  There was fried chicken and a lot more.

LINE DANCING was non stop from 6 until 7pm.  Above, dancers were dancing to a favorite - "La Ultima Noche"

BALLROOM Dancing.  Yes, we guys preferred ballroom dancing.  Above, Neriza and Mel were dancing to rumba "Besame Mucho".

OH MY !!!   Mel Zaragoza was a very busy dancer.  Above, he and Rima looked spectacular dancing to the night club 2-step "When You Tell Me"

THE BEST WAS LAST in my opinion.  Even though we were on overtime, "Mi Bom Bon" line dance and salsa was a lot of fun.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks for Thursday night dances:

Thursday, September 8, 2016:  Cake & Roses Birthday Dance Party, 6pm-10pm at the Old Town Community Church, 2444 Congress Street, San Diego.  DJ Mel Zaragoza.

Parking Lot Entrance is around the corner on Conde Street.  If you are early enough, there'll still be parking in the church parking lot, or along the entrance driveway, next to the church parsonage.  Otherwise, park on the surrounding streets.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

Hoping to see you on the dance floor,

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night cha cha dancing in San Diego.
