CINCO DE MAYO & MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday May 1, 2025

Hello Dancers,  
  You are invited to a CINCO DE MAYO & MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Lola Happy Bistro this coming Thursday May 1st, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ), with the incredible DJ Bing Villafuerte.  There'll be lots of dancing, fun, and food and beverages off the menu (don't bring any food or beverages - you are urged to buy a dinner, even if you just take it home).  Cinco De Mayo & Mexican-attired dancers vie for prizes. DJ Bing will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 9:30pm.  A mild and dry night is currently forecast.

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

A BALLROOM & LINE DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, April 24, 2025, with DJ Nickie Bascos, on a cool and dry night.  There were about 55 in attendance, thanks in part to 11 first-timers.  Here are 5 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, some copied from Facebook posts:

  LINE DANCING was a favorite.  In the photo above, Roland led the well-practiced Roland's Inspiring Dancers in a line dance called "Ohhh My God" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IxLP7zI3x0 ).  Let's see. Roland, Beth and Sol were in front.  Remy, Marilinda, and Merely are in the 2nd line, more or less.  Lolit, Irish and Mary Jane were in back.  Off to the sides were Eva, Zeny and Cesar.

 

 

  BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, Annie and Roland were dancing what appears to be a swing or disco hustle.

 It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These have been really fun ballroom and line dance parties, and Filipino dances.  While the dancing and music have been non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
