DANCE PARTY at Eastlake This Thursday January 30, 2020

Hello Dancers,  
 You are invited to a DANCE PARTY this Thursday January 30, 2020, at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food, and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. The fabulous DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

Last Thursday (January 23rd) was a great CHINESE NEW YEAR DANCE PARTY at Eastlake.  Thanks in part to the return of Papa Nick and Eden, and others coming back after extended absences, there were about 30 dancers enjoying the music of DJ Bing Villafuerte, as you can see in the 5 photos below.

THURSDAY January 23, 2020, CHINESE NEW YEAR DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

GROUP PHOTO BEFORE FOOD. Dancers posed for this photo above before eating. Here is a big "THANK YOU" to people who brought a lot of delicious food.    Karina brought banana bread. Estrelle brought spaghetti. Rei brought salad and suman.  Minda brought cinnamon bread and guavas. Sheila brought mixed nuts delight.  Jovy brought almond chicken.  Carmen brought pinakbet. Del brought trail mix. Rosie brought fried dilis. Beth brought crackers.  Nene brought Mongolian beef. Dina and Errol brought chicken wings. Juliet brought garlic bread.  Bert Alota brought papaya. Nick & Eden brought Chinese vegetable delight and rice.  Geraldine brought arroz caldo.  Rosie brought cheese & spinach quiche.  Zeny brought bibingka.  And, there was more.

LADIES with HEARTS.  Estrelle, Nene, Geraldine, Beth and Nedy, all in Chinese costumes, posed for a selfie, provided by Geraldine & Romi.

BALLROOM DANCING alternated with line dancing until 10pm.  In the photo above, I got to dance with Rosa to the cumbia "Amor Ala Mexicana".

CHINESE NEW YEAR NIGHT BEST ATTIRE WINNERS posed for the photo above.  They were Juliet, Sheila, Karina, Estrelle, Nene, Nedy, Jovy, Rosie, Rosa, Lydia, Geraldine, and Judge Edith.  I heard that next year, Vietnamese costumes will be eligible for prizes.

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, then it alternated with ballroom dancing until 10pm.  In the photo above from Nedy's Facebook, Nedy and Rei were in the front line, more or less, dancing.  I believe it was "Mi Bombon" line dance.

Thursday, February 6, 2020:  COWBOY & WESTERN DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Prizes for best attire. DJ Nickie Bascos.

Thursday, February 13, 2020:  VALENTINES & FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. DJ Bing Villafuerte.  Try to attend, because the clubhouse will be unavailable until mid-March.

Thursday, February 20 - March 12, 2020: No dances at Eastlake because the clubhouse will be closed.

  It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
