CHINESE NEW YEAR DANCE PARTY at Eastlake This Thursday February 22, 2018

Hello Dancers,   

 You are invited to a Chinese New Year Dance Party this Thursday February 22, 2018, at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. There'll be lots of dancers with beautiful Asian attire, prizes for Best Attire, plus dancing, fun, food and beverages.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share. The miraculous DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.  

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

Last Thursday (February 15th) was a MARDI GRAS NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake. Thanks in part to 2 first-timers, Nickie and the Mira Mesa BFF Dancers, and to people who invited friends, there were 45 dancers. THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2018, MARDI GRAS NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night.  Above, early in the night, dancing to a long-running favorite, "Stuck On You", it was Edith, Nene and Pat in front, more or less.

LOOKING GREAT WITH GREEN, Rei and Delia and Eden paused for a pose.

FOOD LINE.  Here's a "Thank You", and some credits for very delicious food.  Nick & Eden brought chicken pinola and rice. Estrelle brought pancit.  Beth brought fruit.  Geraldine brought pancit bihon. Rei  brought Greek salad and suman. Josie & Romy brought macaroni salad and coffee.  Elma brought pizza. Connie brought doughnuts. Nene brought colored puto. Cindy brought cornbread & cookies.  Carmen brought sopia dessert with mung beans.  Ruben brought cookies.  And, there was more.  

BALLROOM DANCING.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, Nickie and Aurea were dancing to the bachata "Panama". 

COUPLES BEST ATTIRE WINNERS for Mardi Gras Night in the photo above were Jake & Nene, Cindy & Chito, Susie & DJ Mel, and judges Edith and Rei.

SOLO BEST ATTIRE WINNERS for Mardi Gras Night in the photo above were Connie, Neriza, Josie, Eva, Conchita, and judge Edith.

Thursday, March 15, 2018:  ST. PATRICK'S NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Prizes for best attire. DJ Mel Zaragoza.


  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
