SHORTS NIGHT & BEACH PARTY DANCE in EASTLAKE This Thursday August 17, 2017

Hello Dancers,  

  You can wear shorts to the SHORTS NIGHT & BEACH PARTY DANCE this Thursday night August 17th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be prizes for best attire ("best cover-ups", said a judge), lots of dancing, fun, food and beverages.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The adorable DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.  

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

THURSDAY AUGUST 10, 2017, DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

FOOD LINE. Above, Nina gave a blessing for the food. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Nick & Eden brought stir-fried shrimp and sweet peas.   Karina brought baked pasta.  Sheila brought brownies. Carmen & Fred brought pinakbet and lumpia. Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought pancit canton.  Ralph brought chicken. Belen & Rei brought pizza. Bert Alota & Suzanne brought mango cubes. And, there was more. 

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night.  Above, dancing to "Bachata Risma", it was Edith, Sheila and Nene in the front line.

BALLROOM DANCING.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances. Above, Bert Alota and Suzanne danced to the slow dance "Satisfy My Soul".

Thursday, August 31, 2017:  ARABIAN NIGHT at Eastlake,  6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Prizes for best attire. DJ Mel Zaragoza.


Thursday, September 7, 2017: DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913.  DJ Bing Villafuerte.


  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous informal instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night dancing in Chula Vista.
