Dance Party at Eastlake This Thursday April 27, 2017

Hi Happy Dancers!

Let's party again at the Dance Party this Thursday night April 27th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be lots of dancing and snacks and beverages.  It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The miraculous DJ Mel Zaragoza will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.

DIRECTIONS:  Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

Last Thursday (April 20th) was a 70's DISCO DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, featuring colorful dancers.  Thanks in part to first-timers and some of Marie's Prime Ladies of San Diego, there were 35 happy dancers who enjoyed dancing to DJ Bing's music.  There was a lot of things happening, as you can see in the 9 photos below.  (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are.  If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)

THURSDAY APRIL 20, 2017, 70's DISCO DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

BY THE LAKE.  Above, it was Vicky, DJ Mel and Edith posing by the lake before the dance.

MORE BY THE LAKE.  Nedy, Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel), and Jake posed by the lake.

DISCO DANCERS posed during a line dance.  I think you know their names.

FOOD LINE.  Above, Nina was gave a blessing for the food, and said a prayer for Nick Enriquez who is now in a convalescent facility, recovering from a broken arm and complications.  Here's a "Thank You", and some credits. Beth brought mixed fruit.  Rei and Belen brought rellenos bangs and maja blanca and fruit.  Nedy brought tuna casserole.  Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought pancit.  Joe brought pizza.  Estrelle brought sandwiches.  Rosa brought banana fritters.  Hermie brought watermelon.  And, there was more.

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night.  Above, Edith, Rei and Nora were in the front line for "Colors Of The Wind", a relatively new line dance for Thursday night dancers.

HANG ON TIGHT as Joe dipped Nedy while dancing to the "Endless Love bachata", of all things.

DISCO ATTIRE WINNERS, too many to name, lined up for photos.  Multi-colored Estrelle, towards the right, was a grand prize winner.  DJ Mel was the guy's grand prize winner.  See him in other photos.

BALLROOM DANCING.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, I got to dance with Rose to the disco classic, "First, Last, Everything".

DJ BING SANG ala karaoke to a cute disco-tempo song called "Bikining Itim", while DJ Mel and Elma danced to it.  Bing has a very good voice.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night salsa dance in San Diego.
