Christmas Party Was Fun!! 2 Weeks Off Until Thursday Jan. 8, 2015

Hi Dancers - It Was a Big Party!!
Nina's Tuesday Night Line Dancers will dance in Point Point twice before our next Thursday night dance party:  Tuesday Dec. 23, 2014, for their Christmas Dance Party, and after only Dec 30th OFF, they dance again Tuesday Jan. 6, 2015.  Tuesday night dance time:  from 6pm until 9pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.

The big Christmas Dance Party this past Thursday night at Point Point Joint, featured The Filipino Elvis of San Diego, plus the fabulous DJ Bing, prizes for Best Costume and an Ugliest Sweater Contest, complementary snacks and much more.  And, over 55 dancers had a joyous time.  There was A LOT GOING ON - so much that I could not follow it all - the ten photos below show part of the story.          (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (DECEMBER 18, 2014):

As always, line dances were a big part of the night, including non-stop from 6pm - 7pm.  Above, dancers were enjoying "All I Want For Christmas Is You", using the steps of "Mamma Maria".

GONE IN 60 SECONDS.  Romy (of Romy & Marilyn fame) brought in a big box of delicious avocados - the ensuing frenzy emptied the box in 60 seconds.

Tony & Marilou came back to Point Point for the Christmas Dance Party.  Above, we see them dancing to "Careless Whisper" night club 2-step.

Next to them, Florita and Romy (not avocado Romy, but the another Romy) were also dancing to "Careless Whisper".

THE CHRISTMAS TREE!!  When Eva, The Christmas Tree, walked in - it was a given - she'd win the Most Festive Costume prize.

The Filipino Elvis of San Diego, Romy Maraya (the 3rd Romy at the party), did a medley of Elvis songs - I think this was "Hound Dog" - to the delight of a bevy of beautiful dancers behind him.

Carlos kindly brought some of RMX Dancers' All-Stars to the dance.  Above, I spotted him dancing with one of the RMX'ers, Lulu, to "Dance With Me".  Nina reminded us of the gala New Year’s Eve Dinner/Dance sponsored by RMX at the Four Points by the Sheraton, 8110 Aero Drive, San Diego.  RMX's Esta (858-761-6774) was at Point Point, too.

Next to Carlos & Lulu I saw Heidi dancing to "Dance With Me" with Ruben.  I think they used cha cha steps.

I was fortunate to get to dance with Heidi's sister, Mildred, who was visiting from North Caroline.  Above, we were dancing to a Waltz Line Dance, "Could I Have This Dance."

THE PRIZE WINNERS.  Edith and Nina awarded prizes. Left to right:  Ruben won the Men's Ugliest Sweater.  Edith.  Eva, The Christmas Tree, won the Women's Most Festive Costume.  Rei won the Women's Ugliest Sweater.  DJ Mel won the  Men's Most Festive Costume.  And, Nina.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  January 1, 2015    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  NO DANCE

P.S. Other Notes: (1) When we resume Thursdays on Jan. 8, 2015, this is the best Filipino-American dancing in San Diego.  (See 1st paragraph regarding the best line dance lessons in San Diego.) This is dancing in San Diego on Thursday nights - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this, for example, the best cha cha dancing lessons in San Diego.
