No Dance at Point Point This Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014

OK Dancers,
THANKSGIVNG DAY falls on Thursday this week.  Sorry, but no dance is planned for Point Point on Thanksgiving.  However, if you'd like to dance in Point Point this week, you can join Nina's line dancers & dance between 6 - 9pm on Tuesday, Nov 25th.  Thursday night dancing will be back the following week (Dec. 4th).  Both Christmas & New Years Day fall on Thursday, so those will be "no dance" Thursdays, too.
Last Thursday November 20, 2014, was another fabulous night at Point Point, dancing to the music of DJ Leo.  Once again there were over 40 dancers.  The eight photos below show part of the story.        (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (NOVEMBER 20, 2014):

There were plenty of line dances - including non-stop from six to seven PM.  Above, it was "Chilly Cha Cha", with Medy, Lou, Florita & Nene in front.

A while later the line dance was "Bachata Risma" with Gloria, Nedy and Lou facing the camera.

And you know us guys prefer ballroom dances.  Above we see Dione dancing "Dos Locos" bachata with Edith.

Above, Tito & Ly were enjoying a cha cha called "Babalu".

A couple minutes later I spotted Ruben dancing "La Cumparsita" tango with Penny.

We welcomed a 1st-timer, Arnie, who was dancing the night club 2-step "Pusong Bato" with Rima.

And, I got to dance with the charming Heidi.  I think it was her 1st time at Thursday night at Point Point.  Above we were dancing the cha cha "Rico Vacilon".

There was a Mary Kay group meeting going on in the upper level Thursday night.  The Mary Kay beauty consultants have cosmetics and personal care products.  The Mary Kay folks organized a drawing to very generously give one of the dancers a Mary Kay Satin Hand Set gift basket prize.  Above, the Mary Kay sales director Remy awarded the winner, Eva, with the prize.

On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "Red Hot" (boogie), "Faithful Love" (night club 2-step), and "Luna Llena" (merengue).  And, the women loved the line dances including:  "Cowboy Cumbia", "Blurred Lines", and "Spanish Eyes".

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  When we get back to dancing in December on Thursday (December 4, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

With DJ Mel Zaragoza in the last couple weeks of his "vacation" in the Philippines, here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  November 27, 2014 - NO DANCE - THANKSGIVING DAY

Thursday  December 4, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514

Thursday  December 11, 2014  6-10pm, DJ is TBD

Thursday  December 18, 2014  6-10pm, PRE-CHRISTMAS DANCE PARTY

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is the best Filipino-American dancing in San Diego on Thursday nights - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this the best midweek dancing in San Diego.
(2) You can click on Links to see many YouTube MUSIC VIDEOS and other websites that are mentioned in this email (the links are colored like this one for a YouTube video of "Bachata Risma").  And, see websites like: this group's Home Page and Upcoming Dances.
