Dance at Point Point This Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014

Hello Party Dancers,
It will be another rollicking good-time DANCE PARTY this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, November 20, 2014.  This is YOUR INVITATION to be there for the pre-Thanksgiving dance.  The fabulous DJ Leo will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).   So come on over - Party time:  from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.

Last Thursday November 13, 2014, was wonderful night to remember.  Enjoying the music of DJ Bing were over 40 dancers, including Cora Anderson who reminded us of the Fil-Am Unity Group's Gala Dinner-Dance of Saturday Nov 29th.   The eight photos below show part of the story.        (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (NOVEMBER 13, 2014):

Once again there were dozens of line dances - including non-stop from six to seven PM.  Above, it was "Bachata Risma", a favorite for over a year now, with Florita front & center.

A while later the line dance was "Let's Mambo Together" with Florita and Lou in front.  Marie is dancing next to DJ Bing in back - she introduced this line dance to the Point Point crowd earlier this year.

Well, we guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Daisy (of Lito & Daisy fame) dropped in with her cousin.  Above we see Daisy dancing with Nickie.

We were happy and honored to have Rosie and Rollie show up at Point Point.  I think it was their 1st Thursday night at Point Point Joint

We rarely are honored by having Cecile drop in.  She did on Thursday, and above Mark got to dance the rumba "Reloj" with her.

Penny and Nickie were having fun dancing to the rumba "Acercate Mas".

I felt intoxicated - not from alcohol, but from getting to dance with so many wonderful women.  Above Nita danced "Bailamos" samba with me.

Marie and several of the Prime Ladies of San Diego came to remind us of the big dance this coming Friday Nov 21 that they are hosting at the church at 3737 Valley Vista Way, Bonita CA 91902.  Anyway I got to dance a swing dance with Marie.

On Thursday we had lots of fun with other ballroom dance songs like "Suavemente" (merengue), "Bakit Pa" (night club 2-step), and "Could I Have This Dance" (waltz).  And, the women loved the line dances including:  "Caballero", "It's So Easy", and "Bilando Boogaloo".

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' dance party on Thursday (November 20, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

With DJ Mel Zaragoza in the last couple weeks of his "vacation" in the Philippines, here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  November 20, 2014  6-10pm, DJ Leo

Thursday  November 27, 2014 - NO DANCE - THANKSGIVING DAY

Thursday  December 4, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514

Thursday  December 11, 2014  6-10pm, DJ is TBD

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is the best Filipino-American dancing in National City on Thursday nights - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this the best midweek dancing in San Diego.
(2) You can click on Links to many YouTube MUSIC VIDEOS and other websites that are mentioned in this email (the links are colored like this one for a YouTube video of "It's So Easy").  And, see websites like: this group's Home Page and Upcoming Dances.
