Dance Party at Point Point This Thursday (November 14th, 2013)

Hello Dancers,
   This Thursday November 14th will be a great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).    
   Last Thursday (November 7th) was a bit less festive than normal because the big news was that Typhoon Haiyan (aka Typhoon Yolanda) was smashing into Leyte, Samar and other islands.  Some people were getting news updates on their iPhones.  Unfortunately, the outcome turned out to be a lot worse than we expected.  Some San Diego groups are now participating in relief activities.  Our prayers are for the victims and their families and friends.
   Nevertheless, over 30 dancers showed up at Point Point to enjoy dancing to the music of DJ Mel.

On Tuesday November 5th, Nina's line dancers at Point Point enjoyed dancing to "Brand New Slide" and about 20 other line dances.

There were close to 20 people altogether on Tuesday Nov 5th - we celebrated Beth's birthday with lots of food like pandit, fried chicken and cake of course. 

On Thursday Nov 7th, the line dances were popular, especially "Blurred Lines" - the dancers were dancing that one in this photo. 

A little later, Jack and Lu danced to one of my favorites - "Mi Bom Bon".  Most people danced it as a salsa.

Here we see "Bachata Risma" dancers with Vilma and Rima in front around closing time.  


It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point with line dances and ballroom swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  This coming Thursday Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Thursday December 19th 6-10pm, DJ Mel.  1st of 3 Holiday Dance Parties with complimentary snacks and probably prizes.
Thursday December 26th 6-10pm, DJ Leo.  2nd of 3 Holiday Dance Parties with complimentary snacks and probably prizes.
Thursday January  2nd  6-10pm, DJ Mel.  3rd of 3 Holiday Dance Parties with complimentary snacks and probably prizes.

Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is the invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  There are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
