Dance Party at Point Point This Thursday (November 7th)

Hello Dancers,

   This Thursday November 7th will be a great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).    
   Last Thursday (October 31st) was the Halloween Costume Dance Party with over 50 dancers at Point Point, with dance music by DJ Leo.  Besides lots of great costumes, there were VIP visitors and some first-timers.  And Holy Smoke! My partner in starting this email group back in 2009, Art Buangan showed up in costume with his wife, and he took and posted two YouTube videos of the night's events. One of Art's YouTube videos is this:  Video of Award of Best Costume Prizes - the judges gathered up enough prizes to give four awards!  The other video, a more fuzzy video (maybe due to darkness) is: Video of Blurred Lines on Oct 31.  
   What else?  A lot was going on.  Nina Anson brought the former mayor of Cavite City, Philippines, Ohmee Ramos.  Lots of complimentary snacks.

Here we see Bert A and Mona dip while dancing a tango. 

And later, there was another tango and I saw Beth dancing it with DJ Leo.

Across the floor, dancing to the same tango were Pirate Hector and Lady Marilou. 

And, at the same time, Suzanne was dancing the tango with former Cavite mayor Ohmee Ramos.

A little bit later, Pirates Sally and Hector were dancing a bachata.

And across the floor, Batwoman Rima was dancing to the same bachata with Ruben.

You can see the video of the whole best costume awards ceremony, but here we see "Wicked Queen" Edith giving Best Animal Costume Prize to Catwoman Eva.

And here are all the Costume Contest winners:  Best Couple Costume is Mr & Mrs Zorro (DJ Mel and Susie); Best Super Hero Costume is Batwoman Rima; Catwoman Eva; and Best Costume Special Prize is Maid Susan.

At the end of the night, we see the "Wobble" dancers with Vilma and Sherry in front.  


It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point with line dances and ballroom swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  This coming Thursday Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is the invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  There are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
