This coming Thursday (September 5th) will be another great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point Joint Restaurant (details below).
Last Thursday (August 29th) over 40 dancers showed up at Point Point to enjoy the hottest day of the year so far. Since most all the dancers had grown up in the Philippines, I didn't hear a single complaint about the heat. Not one. I heard a hundred.
I saw some people for the first time, including DJ Mel's sister Cody. DJ Mel played great dance songs. We saw line dancers do Blurred Lines line dance. I couldn't tell which YouTube version they did.
Photo Highlights from August 29th: (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
Romy (on right wearing a hat) sometimes brings in fresh produce to give to dancers. Thursday he brought in TWO BOXES - one of avocados and one of oranges. The boxes were picked empty in about a minute.
Ernie and Florita here had fun dancing the bachata "Stand By Me".
What would the night be without Bert A showing some dance floor skills - here near closing time with Rima in a dip to the tango "La Cumparsita".
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point with line dances and ballroom swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. Once again this coming Thursday Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
Here's the plan for the next couple weeks:
Thursday September 5th 6-10pm, DJ Leo
Thursday September 12th 6-10pm, DJ Mel
See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith
619-224-3095
P.S. Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is your invitation to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. Every Thursday there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
