Ladies Liven Up a Mostly Empty at Lucky Star on Nov 17th

Hello Dancers,
Even the Lucky Star waiters were amused by our …. What can I call it?  ENTHUSIASM.  Was it the wine, women or the wide open Wednesday night dance floor?  Who knows.  Details below.

TUESDAY NIGHT (free!) LINE DANCING - Tuesday November 16th, free line dance night at Point Point brought in 16 energetic line dancers, including newcomers Jona, Vicki and Yiying.  Nitz introduced us to another line dance that being done at the 32nd Street Dance Group, a new set of steps for 'Asi Asi' which involves lots of dizzying clockwise spinning.  Besides delicious Point Point food, the night was full of high energy as dancers went through over 15 line dances, some multiple times.  They included "I Love The Nightlife", "September", "Simplemente", "Sway", "Tennessee Waltz", "Volare", and other line dances.
You can join the fun this coming Tuesday (November 23rd) at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, 6:30-9:00, when Nina will again lead us through fun line dances.

WEDNESDAY FILIPINO NIGHT at Lucky Star Restaurant on November 17th, had a ridiculously low number of dancers - only ten!  There was lots of room on the floor - never more than 8 dancers on the floor at one time.  DJ Eric was back along with the $6 cover charge.  Around 7:30 there were six of us who knew each other, me, Bert Alota, Dione, Nita, and Jerry and his date Elenora.  Jerry, Bert Alota and I were finalizing details of a time sharing plan to dance with the two ladies, when in walked two former Filipina fashion models, Rina formerly from Leyte and Naomi formerly from Baguio.  Holy smoke!  I was asking them to dance before they selected a table to sit.  Luckily they picked the table next to us.  And, luckily Rina was happy to dance with us guys.  DJ Eric seemed to know just what to play.  To Rina's delight, DJ Eric played lots of disco hustle like "You're the First, Last, My Everything."  All three of the ladies were wonderfully easy to dance with.  Elenora, formerly from Brazil, enjoyed "Lambada", and she even did well on the waltz line dance, never having seen it before. With basically no line dancers there, the only other line dance we did the steps to was "Coco Jamboo".
We're looking forward to this coming week's "Filipino Night". It will again be WEDNESDAY NIGHT (November 24th) in the LUCKY STAR RESTAURANT from about 6:30 to 9:30pm.

THURSDAY NIGHT DANCING AT JADE HOUSE.  The Jade House Restaurant at 569 H Street, Chula Vista, had its 3rd Thursday night of dancing and karaoke on November 18th.  Manager Vangie Mangune served up a delicious buffet dinner and snacks, dancing and karaoke for $10, from 6PM-nearly midnight.  DJ RT kept the music going, in spite of a late arrival of line dance CDs.  There was a lot of socializing among about 25 dancers who showed up, again including dancers from the 32nd Street group, Forever Young, Nina's Tuesday night line dancers, and other groups (see photos in photo albums).
Vangie said she might be open next Thursday night Nov 25th (THANKSGIVING DAY) for dinner at Jade House, but I do not have final info on that, so call ahead (619-426-5951).

PHOTOS:
First of all, from Lucky Star "Filipino Night" Wednesday Nov 17th, here's the lovely rollicking Rina and me dancing to "Disco Inferno".

Then, at Jade House Thursday night November 18th, we see Lita, Nitz, Divine, Beth and Nina's impromptu chorus line sing-along to a karaoke performance of the old song "Diana".
