NO THURSDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday August 21, 2025

Hello Dancers,  
    Well, there will be NO THURSDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY this coming Thursday August 21st, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ), because we are reducing the schedule to have dances only for special events, usually every other week.  BUT, be sure  to come to the CARIBBEAN HOLIDAY HATS & SHORTS NIGHT DANCE PARTY on August 28th.

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

AN AUGUST BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, August 14, 2025, with DJ Nickie Bascos, on a mild and dry night.  There were over 50 in attendance thanks in part to 5 first-timers and the "Pearls Of The Orient" who performed.  Here are 6 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, most were copied from Facebooks:

  BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, Ric and Connie were dancing what appears to be a west coast swing dance. 

 

 

  LINE DANCING was a favorite.  In the photo above, Roland was teaching the line dance "Oh Carol" ( https://youtu.be/mpm-FuNL39o?si=9S7ycqMt2gWqTKbr ).  In the front line, more or less, were Jhosie, Evelyn, Analyn, Pat and Beth.

ELVISMANIA came to Lola Happy Bistro on Thursday.  While Elvis Precisely tried to sing "All Shook Up" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XWGXy7MQRs ), Lumi jumped on stage to express her admiration for the King of Rock & Roll.

Caribbean-attired dancers (men: printed shirts;  women: embellished hats) vie for prizes.  DJ Bing Villafuerte.

Thursday, September 11, 2025:  SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAYS NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ).  Cake and ice cream.  Roses for birthday ladies. Balloons.  6pm - 9:30pm.  DJ Nickie Bascos.


 It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are the best Thursday night cumbia dancing in San Diego, plus Filipino dances, cha cha and swing in a Thursday night dance party in San Diego.  While the dancing and music have been non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free one-on-one dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
