NO DANCE PARTY at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday August 7, 2025

Hello Dancers,  
  Well, there will be NO THURSDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY this coming Thursday August 7th, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ), because we are reducing the schedule to have dances only for special events, usually every other week.  So, come to the AUGUST BIRTHDAYS PARTY on August 14th, especially if you have a birthday in August. 

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

A HAWAIIAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, July 31, 2025, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, on a mild and dry night.  There were just over 60 in attendance, thanks in part to 3 first-timers, and several dancers who hadn't been to our Thursday night dances in years, for example about 6 from San Diego Forever Lions and about 6 from the Bay Terrace Fil-Am Senior Association.  Here are 6 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, most all were copied from Facebooks:

 

 

 GROUP PHOTO.  Dancers posed for the photo above early in the evening.  

 

 

  BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, John and Fe were dancing what appears to be a night club 2-step dance.  Fe's golden shoes seemed to be the prettiest shoes of the night.

 

 

 UPCOMING THURSDAY NIGHTS signs for Thursday nights at Lola Happy Bistro were held by "Ring Girls" Lisa, Lumi, 1st-timer Grace, and Belen in the photo above.

 

 

 LINE DANCING was a favorite.  In the photo above, Roland's Inspiring Dancers performed "Hawaiian Girl" line dance ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPkE4foYzfM& ).  In the front line, more or less, were Sol, Eva, Remy and Mary Jane,  with Irish, Merely and Lolit behind them.  Bare feet, with blinking lights in the "grass" skirts.

 

 

WINNING COUPLES in Hawaiian Night attire posed for the photo above.  They were Michael & Lolit, John & Lita, Ric & Connie, Mark & Rei, Franco & Belen, Nora & Joe, Janet & Bing, Fe & John, Irish & Roland, Merely & Willie,  and Geraldine & Romi.  Remy & Chris, and Ver & Ditas were also winners, just not in this photo. 

 

 

 WINNING SINGLES in Hawaiian Night attire posed for the photo above.  In this photo we see Evelyn, Karina, Joy (a 1st-timer), Analyn, Alice, Minda, Virgie, Sol, May, Hermie, Estrelle, Beth, Josie, Grace (a 1st-timer), Matet (a 1st-timer), Lupe, Lisa, and Mary Jane.  Myrna, Letty, Leo, and Edna were also winners but were not in the photo above of winners.

Thursday, August 28, 2025:  CARIBBEAN HOLIDAY HATS & SHORTS NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ).  6pm - 9:30pm. Caribbean-attired dancers vie for prizes.  DJ Bing Villafuerte.


 It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights - Filipino American dancing with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These have been really fun ballroom and line dance parties, and Filipino dances. Thursday night ballroom dancing in San Diego. While the dancing and music have been non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
