BALLROOM & LINE DANCE PARTY at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday May 22, 2025

Hello Dancers,  
  You are invited to a BALLROOM & LINE DANCE PARTY at Lola Happy Bistro this coming Thursday May 22nd, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ), with the wonderful DJ Bing Villafuerte.  There'll be lots of dancing, fun, and food and beverages off the menu (don't bring any food or beverages - you are urged to buy a dinner, even if you just take it home).  DJ Bing will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 9:30pm.  A mild and dry night is currently forecast.


  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

A MAY BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, May 15, 2025, with DJ Nickie Bascos, on a mild and dry night.  There were 50 in attendance, thanks in part to 3 first-timers and some dancers who we had not seen for years.  Here are 5 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, most were copied from Facebook posts:

  ART WAS BACK this past Thursday night at the Bistro, which he frequented on Thursday night dances when Lola Happy Bistro was the Jestoni Bistro.  Way back in the year 2010, Art had gathered the email addresses of all the dancers in the Bistro at that time, and that was the start of this weekly emailed report.

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, Joe was dipping Nedy while they were dancing what probably was a swing dance. LINE DANCES were very frequent, too, but we got no good photo of line dancers this time.

 

 

  UPCOMING THURSDAY NIGHTS signs for Thursday nights at Lola Happy Bistro were held by "Ring Girls", Lolit, Lala, Talehya (a first-timer), and Annie in the photo above.

Thursday, June 12, 2025:  FILIPINO NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ).  6pm - 9:30pm. Filipino-attired dancers vie for prizes.  DJ Nickie Bascos.


 It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These have been really fun ballroom and line dance parties, and Filipino dances.  While the dancing and music have been non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
