NO DANCE PARTY at Eastlake Thursday December 21, 2023

Hello Dancers, 


 SORRY, but there will be NO DANCE PARTY this Thursday December 21, 2023, at Eastlake.  The Eastlake HOA slashed our dance schedule, again.  The next Eastlake Thursday night dance is scheduled for the following Thursday December 28th for the New Year's Masquerade Dance Party.

A CHRISTMAS & DECEMBER BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake last Thursday, December 14th, with DJ Nickie Bascos, on a cool but dry night.  There were almost 60 in attendance, close to the most in 2023.  There was a lot going on. Here are 6 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party.  All were copied from earlier Facebook posts:

 

 

 BEFORE EATING, dancers posed for the group photo above. Nedy gave a blessing for the food, thankfulness for bringing us all together.

 

 

 

 LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off and on with ballroom dances until 10PM.  In the photo above, many from Bing & Janet's Group danced a special number called "Watermelon Moonshine" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVL2lHzAE4A ).  You can see John and Faye in the front line, and Annie and Nida behind them.

 

 

 

 FRIENDS, I was told, is the name of the dance group in the photo above.  Although the FRIENDS group is a new one to me, they danced very nicely to a special number of the song, "Let's Groove Tonight" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAMt_XPvoQY ). Sheila and Karina were in the front line, more or less.  Beth, Nedy and Eden were next, and Connie was in back.

 

 

 

 BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS posed behind the Christmas/Birthday cake that was baked by Myra (Veronica).  The celebrants were holding gift cards handed out by DJ Nickie, which included a little gift and some cash.  Rima was substituting for her daughter Jamila.  Also celebrating their December birthdays in the photo above were Estrelle, Nida, Edwin, and Edna.

 

 

 

 DANCING JOYOUSLY, in the photo above, some ladies including Nida were enjoying dancing in a circle around Romy who was singing "Pretty Young Girl" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-eMnHTAjdk ).

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was in abundance. In the photo above, I was enjoying dancing with Annie to the merengue "Linda Eh" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw9orjqEPOc )


CLUBHOUSE RESERVATION ISSUES.  Various issues in regards to Thursday dancing in the Eastlake HOA Clubhouse remain unresolved.   The requirement to keep the bathrooms locked at all times is proving to be difficult.

Thursday, December 28, 2023: NEW YEARS MASQUERADE DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Masquerade-costumed winners vie for prizes. DJ Bing Villafuerte.


Thursday, January 4, 2024:  Dance Party at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913.  DJ Bing Villafuerte. 


Thursday, January 11, 2024: JANUARY BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Roses for birthday ladies. Balloons. DJ Bing Villafuerte


  It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night ballroom and line dancing in San Diego. This is the best Thursday night dance in San Diego, with many types of dance. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
