NO DANCE PARTY at Eastlake Thursday October 26, 2023

Hello Dancers,  

    SORRY, but there will be NO DANCE PARTY again this Thursday October 26, 2023, at Eastlake.  The Eastlake HOA slashed our dance schedule last month.  The next Eastlake Thursday night dance is scheduled for November 2nd for the November Birthdays Party.

A HALLOWEEN AND OCTOBER BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake last Thursday, October 19th, with DJ Bing Villafuerte.  There were almost 60 in attendance, one of the biggest parties of 2023, thanks in part to six 1st-timers, and a lot was going on.  Here are 7 photos from last Thursday's Halloween & Birthday Dance Party:

 

 BY THE LAKE.  Early in the evening there were people posing by Eastlake, most in Halloween costumes. In the photo above you see Guillermo & Gloria (1st-timers), Ric & Connie, Lolit & Michael, Annie, Irish, Janet, Beth, Rei, Nora, Faye & John, and Belen posing.

 

 

 BEFORE EATING, dancers posed for the group photo above. Nedy gave a remembrance of Helen Vergara who had been a dancer at Eastlake and who died earlier in October.  Then, Nedy gave a blessing for the food, thankfulness for bringing us all together. 

 

 

 LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off and on with ballroom dances until 10PM.  In the photo above, you can see Geraldine, Lolit, Roland and Irish line dancing a "special number".  They were dancing the "All Summer" line dance ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyT6fYDIc2Y ).

 

 

  THE BIRTHDAY CAKE (in the photo above) was another delicious creation by Veronica. It featured three layers separated by mousse filling, and incredible decorations.

 

 

 

 BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS Isabel, Sheila, Belen, Michael, Lolit, Nedy and Geraldine who have October birthdays, posed with their birthday cake candles.

 

 

  WINNING COUPLES in Halloween costume posed for the photo above.  They were Dwayne & Eva, Michael & Lolit, Geraldine & Romi, Irish & Roland, Connie & Ric (who was taking this photo), and 1st-timers Gloria & Guillermo (who was adjusting his mask).  Four other couples were winners but they were not in this photo - Joe & Nora, Faye & John, Ver & Ditas, and Rima & Joel. Prizes were donated by Josie & Rei (who both handed out the prizes), and Geraldine.

 

 

 WINNING SINGLES in Halloween costumes posed in the photo above.  They were Yolanda (1st-timer), Rossana, Apple, Manny, Nida, May, 1st-timer Angie (Angelita), Janet, Annie, Nedy, Ver, and Sheila.   Beth and Karina were also costumed winners, but they were not in this photo.

 

MORE ISSUES.  Well, on the heels of reducing our schedule, the Eastlake HOA is proposing the above additional difficulties for our dance parties.  Ruben presented a great explanation & analysis of the proposed changes during a question & answer discussion at 8pm on Thursday night.  He and Roland plan to attend the November HOA Board meeting to request less changes.

Thursday, November 2, 2023:  NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Roses for birthday ladies, and balloons. DJ Bing Villafuerte.


Thursday, November 9, 2023:  NO DANCE, due to a prior reservation.


Thursday, November 16, 2023:  NO DANCE, due to a prior reservation.


  It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night ballroom and line dancing in San Diego. This is the best Thursday night dance in San Diego, with many types of dance. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
