Hello Dancers,
SORRY, but there will be NO DANCE PARTY this Thursday October 5, 2023, at Eastlake. The Eastlake HOA slashed our dance schedule (see info below). The next Eastlake Thursday night dance is scheduled for October 19th.
(Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are. If that doesn't work, you can either click on the place where the photos should be, or go to http://bertdonaldson.blogspot.com to see the whole email. You can see many great photos and videos from previous dances on Nedy's Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/nedy.lao ), and on the EastLake Shore Thursday Dance Group Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1891499784211962 ). You should join the Eastlake Facebook and post your Eastlake photos and videos. Most of the photos below are copied from Connie & Ric's Facebook.)
A DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake last Thursday, September 28th, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, on a mild-weather night. There were just under 50 in attendance, thanks in part to some from North County, and even DJ emeritus Mel Zaragoza from Riverside County. Here are 5 photos from last Thursday's dance party, along with our reduced schedule for October & November:
BY THE LAKE. Early in the evening there were people posing by Eastlake. In the photo above you see Rei, Janet, Connie, Nora, Faye and John.
BEFORE EATING, dancers posed for the group photo above. Beth gave a blessing for the food, and thankfulness for bringing us all together.
LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off and on until 10PM. In the photo above, you can see Irish, Connie, Geraldine and Faye in the front line, more or less. It was the long-time favorite "Caballero" line dance ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG1vhYfHgJ8 ).
BALLROOM DANCING was plentiful during the night. In the photo above we see Rossana dancing with Ruben to what might have been a swing dance.
RING GIRLS WITH REDUCED PARTY SCHEDULE. In the photo above, Eastlake's Thursday night "ring girls', Faye, Janet, Edna and Annie, hold signs with what is coming up in the next 5 weeks.
REDUCED SCHEDULE. Well, we learned in late September that the Eastlake HOA had other plans for many of "our" Thursdays in October & November. Concrete repairs will take place in early October, and other Eastlake people had reserved Thursdays in October and November. So, I hope you will remember to return to Eastlake dancing on Thursday, and October 19th (for combination October Birthday Party and Halloween Costume Party), November 2nd (for the November Birthdays Party), and November 30th (for Cowboy & Western Night). That is assuming there are no more changes to the schedule.
So, here's the dance party plan for the next few Thursdays at Eastlake:
Thursday, October 5, 2023: NO DANCE, due to construction/repairs.
Thursday, October 12, 2023: NO DANCE, due to construction/repairs.
Thursday, October 19, 2023: OCTOBER BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY and HALLOWEEN COSTUME DANCE PARTY at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Roses for birthday ladies, and balloons. Costumed winners vie for prizes. DJ Bing Villafuerte.
Thursday, October 26, 2023: NO DANCE, due to a prior reservation.
It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.
Hoping to see you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is Thursday night ballroom and line dancing in San Diego. This is the best Thursday night dance in San Diego, with many types of dance. While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
