Dance Time Fun Party at Point Point Joint this Thursday Night May 15, 2014

Hello Dance Party Lovers,

It's dance party time again this Thursday May 15, 2014, from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, National City, and this is your invitation to join in the festivities.  The fabulous DJ Mel Zaragoza will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.)

Last Thursday May 8, 2014, was Mexican Night, and it was fun with lots of food, too.  These nine pictures below tell some of the story about last week.      (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

TUESDAY NIGHT LINE DANCING (May 6, 2014):

Was I surprised!  Nineteen dancers showed up - as many as I had seen on a Tuesday night in years.  What all was danced?  "Happy" and "Mamita Mia" were two.  About 30 minutes was spent on "Beguine Per Sognare" getting ready for a YOU TUBE video-recording this coming Thursday.  And above - they're dancing "Blurred Lines" with Claire in front who had not been at Nina's Tuesday night for years.

Here are 18 of the dancers.  With Nina going for a 3-week vacation in Europe, Tuesday (May 6, 2014) was the last Tuesday night line dancing in Point Point Joint until June 3, 2014.

THURSDAY's MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY (May 8th):

DJ Mel Zaragoza was dancing in full MEXICAN NIGHT costume here.

Bert Alota and Suzanne led a "dress rehearsal" of the line dance "Beguine Per Sognare" for a planned YOU TUBE video recording of it this coming Thursday.  Twelve of the sixteen dancers who did a great YOU TUBE video of "It's My Soul" the previous week were at Point Point Joint this past Thursday night, and I thanked them.

Nene should get an award for Most Improved Dancer.  She was dancing almost every dance.  Here she was dancing a waltz with Jake.

Romy and Marilyn won the Best Costume prizes, being awarded in this picture by Nina and Edith.

Rima showed up for the party, and here she was dancing a cumbia with Ruben.

There were 35 dancers Thursday night at Point Point Joint, until about closing time when RMX'ers Esta and Nick and Lulu popped in along with about a half dozen other folks, probably also from the RMX Dance Group.  So, the music kept playing past closing time.  Here Florita, Bert Alota and Suzanne were leading some line dance.

When it was the last dance of the night, "Goodnight My Love", Florita and Lita danced to it.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (May 15th), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  May 15, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Mel Zaragoza, 619-947-9049

Thursday  May 22, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Mel Zaragoza

See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is the invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  There are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
(2) You can click on Hyperlinks in this email (colored like this one for "It's My Soul") and others in this email to see things like: this group's Home Page and Upcoming Dances.
