Hello Dancers,
This coming Thursday (July 18th) will be another great Dance Party from 6 to 10PM at Point Point (details below). As part of the night's dancing, there will be a free line dance lesson from 6pm-7pm, including DJ Mel showing us how to do the "Pac Man Shuffle" and "Stomp".
Last Thursday (July 11th) Point Point had about 40 dancers and lots of good dancing, including DJ Mel teaching us the "Stomp" line dance. The video of "Stomp" is kind of cute, I think.
Photo Highlights from July 11th: (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "images have been blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
Here we see a full floor of "Almost Jamaica" dancers.
And, a while later everyone had fun dancing "Stomp" line dance which DJ Mel had taught in the 6-7pm free line dance lesson hour.
A few minutes later I got to dance "Porque Te Quiero" cha cha with Rei.
Speaking of cha cha, here we see a couple of the younger cha cha dancers.
Around closing time we had Lita leading the dancers on "Quizas Quizas Quizas".
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point with line dances and ballroom swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. Once again this Thursday Point Point, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
Here's the plan for the next few weeks (well, at least until DJ Leo returns from the Philippines):
Thursday July 18th 6-10pm, DJ Mel, including line dance lesson 6-7pm
Thursday July 25th 6-10pm, DJ Mel
Thursday August 1st 6-10pm, DJ Mel
(The Early Birds start partying around 5:30pm.)
See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is your invitation to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. Every Thursday there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Come over now before the summer gets really warm.
(2) You can click on various Hyperlinks (colored like this one featuring "Stomp" or this one of "Almost Jamaica") and others earlier in this email to see things like: Upcoming Dances.
