NO THURSDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday February 12, 2026

Hello Dancers,  
    Well, there will be NO THURSDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY this coming Thursday February 12th, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, because we reduced the schedule to have dances only for special events, usually every other week.  BUT, be sure to come to the MARDI GRAS DANCE PARTY on February 19, 2026, especially if you have some Mardi Gras attire.

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

A FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, February 5, 2026, with Roland and I substituting for DJs who went to the Philippines.  The party was in Lola Happy Bistro, on a cool and dry night.  There were 40 in attendance thanks in part to 2 first-timers.  Here are 5 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, most were copied from Facebooks:

  BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, John and Fe were dancing what I think was the rumba "Esta Noche" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwtDJ5Lu6dw ).

 

 

 

 UPCOMING THURSDAY NIGHTS signs for Thursday nights at Lola Happy Bistro were held by "Ring Girls" Mary Jane, Rose, Emma (a 1st-timer) and Zenaida in the photo above.

 

 

 LINE DANCING was a favorite.  In the photo above, Roland's Inspiring Dancers performed the line dance "Take Me Home" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un1gRQy5J8M ).   In front were Roland and Eva.  Behind them were Lolit, Remy and Irish.  Mary Jane was dancing too, just off to the left. 

 

 

 BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS -- me and Remy, with birthdays in February, posed for the photo above. The cake was a delicious chocolate cake.

Thursday, February 19, 2026:  MARDI GRAS DANCE PARTY, especially if you have some Mardi Gras attire, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://www.facebook.com/lolahappybistro  (619) 434-7371)).  Mardi Gras-attired dancers vie for prizes.  6pm - 9:30pm.  DJ Nickie Bascos.

Thursday, March 5, 2026:  MARCH BIRTHDAYS NIGHT DANCE PARTY for all March celebrants, PLUS the 1st Anniversary at Lola Happy Bistro celebration, at 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://www.facebook.com/lolahappybistro  (619) 434-7371)).  Cake and ice cream.  Roses for birthday ladies. Balloons.  6pm - 9:30pm.  DJ Bing Villafuerte


 It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is where Filipino-Americans dance groups go on a Thursday night in San Diego -- a dance at Lola Happy Bistro in National City, with ballroom and line dancing, Filipino dances, cha cha cha dancing and swing dancing on a Thursday night in San Diego.  While the dancing and music will be non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free one-on-one ballroom and line dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
