DANCE PARTY in EASTLAKE This Thursday September 7, 2017

Hello Dancers,  

  Join a DANCE PARTY this Thursday night September 7th at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista.  There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food and beverages - and it'll be Nina's Birthday Party. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The miraculous DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

Last Thursday (August 31st) was ARABIAN NIGHT at Eastlake, with over 30 very warm but happy dancers, many in really nice "Arabian" attire, enjoying DJ Mel's great music, as you can see in the 9 photos below.  (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are.  If that doesn't work, you can either click on the places where the photos should be, or go to this website to see the whole email.)

THURSDAY AUGUST 31, 2017, ARABIAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY at Eastlake:

LOVELY LADIES by the LAKE.  In this case, Paula, Faradeh, and Leticia were by Eastlake.  Paula and Faradeh were 2 of the 3 first-timers to Thursday night at Eastlake.

NENE also looked very nice outdoors near sunset.

SHEIK DJ MZ.  That was DJ Mel Zaragoza, one of the night's grand prize winners, standing beside his DJ equipment.

FOOD LINE.  Above, Nina was getting ready to give a blessing for the food. Here's a "Thank You", and some credits.  Karina brought loom. Sheila brought okay.  Mel (not the DJ, but the other Mel) brought pancit canton. Beth brought mixed fruits.  Belen & Rei brought suman. Josie & Romy brought chicken noodle soup.  Bert Alota & Suzanne brought sliced mangoes. Leticia brought Caesar chicken salad.  Paula brought sliced pineapple. 
And, there was more. 

LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off & on the rest of the night.  Above, dancing to long-time favorite "Bachata Risma" line dance, it was Daisy, Vicky, Belen and Beth in the front line. 

BALLROOM DANCING.  We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Above, Geraldine, who won a Best Effort attire prize, and Romi were dancing to a cha cha. 

BELLY DANCING.  Ladies tried to follow Faradeh, who was wearing a yellow sash around her waist, dancing a belly dance. Faradeh won the Most Authentic attire prize.

NINA got a flower arrangement birthday gift a week early from Ruben.

WINNERS of this year's ARABIAN NIGHT best attire prizes lined up to get their prizes from judges Edith and Nina, who announced categories of winners this time - Nene & Geraldine (Best Effort), Eva (Most Creative), Faradeh & Daisy (Most Authentic), Marilyn (Most Creative), and DJ the Sheik (Best Man).

Thursday, September 21, 2017:  DANCE Party at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913.  We got this night again, after all. DJ Bing Villafuerte.  


Thursday, September 28, 2017:  POLKA DOT NIGHT PARTY DANCE at Eastlake, 6pm-10pm at the Eastlake Shores Beach Clubhouse, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista CA 91913. Prizes for best attire. DJ Mel Zaragoza.


  It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights, with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties.  This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego.  While the dancing and music are non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.  Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous informal instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best Thursday night dance lessons in San Diego.
