CARIBBEAN NIGHT Dance - Thursday at Point Point Joint (Aug 27, 2015 - last dance)

OK Dancers - This Is It,
CARIBBEAN NIGHT may be the last Thursday night dance at Point Point Joint.  This is your invitation to join the fun & frolic Thursday Aug. 27, 2015 from 6pm until 10pm.  The weather forecast is for a hot day - feel free to wear shorts but at least cool island clothing.  We'll have attire prizes and lots of food.  The great DJ Bing Villafuerte will be playing swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which has been non-stop from 6-7pm lately.  The place: Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.  We'll celebrate the end of five years of Thursday night fun at Point Point Joint.

Last Thursday August 20, 2015, thanks to several dancers not seen in a long time, 55 dancers enjoyed the music of DJ Bing.  The nine photos below to tell part of the story.           (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (AUGUST 20, 2015):

There were lots of line dances, including non-stop from 6 to 7pm, as usual.    Above, line dancers enjoyed a new one, "Fly Like A Bird", with Nora and Edith in front.

We guys preferred the ballroom dances.  Robert and Gloria enjoyed dancing the rumba "Ballerina Girl"

Above, a few minutes later Ruben (who was one of the very energetic guy-dancers of the night) enjoyed dancing with Dolores to the rumba-tempo "As Long As You Love Me".

We welcomed Sally back to Thursday night at Point Point Joint.  She'd been away for most of a year. Above, she was dancing to the salsa "Acabo De Llegar" with another very energetic dancer, Joe

And, Joy was there.  I cannot remember how long since she'd been to Point Point.  Above she was dancing with Mel to the bachata or cha cha "Cuando Me Enamoro".

Above, I got to dance with the cheerful Edith R to a great salsa, "Mi Bom Bon".

Line dancers looked good till the end of the night.  Above Medy and my Edith were in front on "Uptown Funk".

And, Rima managed to coax her rarely-seen hubby Joel onto the dance floor for the last dance, "Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight".

Very late, 21 dancers got together for a group photo.

It'll be one last fun dance party again this Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this week's CARIBBEAN NIGHT Dance Party on Thursday (August 27, 2015), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers, plus there will be complimentary snacks.

Here's the final dance plan for Point Point Joint:

Thursday  August 27, 2015  6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte.  CARIBBEAN NIGHT. This will probably be the LAST THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT DANCE.  There will be prizes for best attire and (in addition to Point Point's $10 dinner special) lots of complimentary snacks and food.  Wear cool clothing because it'll be hot.

September - Some of us are looking for a suitable place for mid-week night-time ballroom & line dancing.  More details next week.

See you on the dance floor,

P.S. Other Notes: (1) It'll be a really fun (and probably crowded) ballroom and line dance party - one more time - this is Thursday night August 27, 2015, in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free one-on-one dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
(2) You can click on Links to to many YouTube MUSIC VIDEOS and other websites that are mentioned in this email (the links are colored like this one of "Uptown Funk" line dance performed by Edna and other 32nd Street Dance Group dancers).   And, see websites like: this group's Home Page, and Upcoming Dances.
