Hello Party People,
It's Dance Time again this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, July 9, 2015. The world-traveling DJ Mel Zaragoza will be playing swing, cha cha, rumba, and much more - and of course - LINE DANCING - which has been non-stop from 6-7pm lately. This is your invitation to join the party. Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink. (More details below.). So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
Last Thursday July 2, 2015, was the RED WHITE & BLUE Dance with DJ Bing Villafuerte and DJ Nickie Bascos, Jr., playing to 40 colorful dancers. The following nine photos below tell part of the very busy story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (JULY 2, 2015, RED WHITE & BLUE Night):
Once again, line dances were in abundance, especially non-stop from 6 to 7pm. Above, a little after 7pm 'Carinito' dancers included Nora and Elsie.
The guys favored the ballroom dances. Above it was Ly and Jerry - his Boy Scout outfit won a costume prize later in the night. They were dancing the salsa "Ave Maria Lola".
Then, the floor was packed for the night club two-step "Sinta", including Ray and Elsie above.
Above, "Almost Jamaica" dancers with Edith in front.
Then we recorded a YouTube video of "Under The Boardwalk":
In the above YouTube video, DJ Mel Zaragoza choreographed these steps to "Under The Boardwalk" with his sister Carolina Herrera who lives in New Jersey. NOTE - the first 15 seconds of this video are the end of "Uptown Funk" line dance. DJ Mel leads the steps in the front row. Next to him are Nedy and Nene. Others dancing in the video: Elsie, Josie, Eva, Estrelle, Lou, Edith, Merci, Marilyn, Rima, Nora, and Eden.
Ruben and Rima danced to the cumbia "Maldito Corazon".
Romy Maraya, San Diego's Filipino Elvis, treated everyone to something different - he sang "Long Live America" in honor of Independence Day. (Camera wasn't focused.)
Congratulations to the many RED WHITE & BLUE Night attire prize winners: Tito & Gloria, Dolores, Eva & Dwayne (with Nina in between), and Jerry Sattler in his well-preserved Boy Scout leader uniform. Edith is on right.
Picture taking went on way past closing time. Too many to name in the photo above, except for Patty and Manoro in front.
The crowd parted way so I could get a picture of DJ Nickie Bascos and DJ Bing Villafuerte who were trying to pack up their equipment.
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. For this week's Dance Party on Thursday (July 9, 2015), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instructions while others are dancing make these, for example, the best bachata lessons in San Diego.
