Hi Wild Ones!
Ladies - You can wear those wild prints on the Point Point dance floor this Thursday Jan. 29, 2015. This is YOUR INVITATION to join the party. Lots of extra food will be on the tables for a "4th Anniversary" celebration. The incredible DJ Leo will play swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING! Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink. (More details below.). So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
There were 30 dancers at last Thursday's Dance Party for a fun night of exuberance and dancing to the music of DJ Bing. The following 6 photos tell part of the story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
LAST THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (JAN. 22, 2015):
If we'd had a Best Costume Contest, Daisy and Lito would have won. They had just come from a Chinese New Year dance party at Balboa Park. In the photo above, they were dancing to a rumba.
Lots of line dances were played during the night, as usual. Above Medy (in front) was happily dancing to "Let's Mambo Together".
A little later Gloria & Tito were dancing to a night club 2-step.
Ping & Nene also danced to the same night club 2-step.
Edith, Florita and Medy were in front on the "Carinito" line dance.
A while later Ruben and Mercy enjoyed dancing to "Dancing Queen".
4 YEARS AGO - Remembering the 1st two weeks of Thursday Night at Point Point Joint in early 2011:
"Volare" line dance was played a lot at Point Point when dancing started there. Above, on the 1st Thursday night at Point Point, dancing to "Volare" it was Mona, Divine and Nina were in the front row.
"Asi Asi" was another much-played line dance four years ago. Again on Jan. 27, 2011, the photo above shows line dancers like Jona, Edith and Carmen dancing "Asi Asi". You can see DJ Leo in yellow in the back.
A week later, Thursday Feb. 3, 2011, line dancing to "Simplemente", it was Liz in front with Angie behind her.
A minute later they were dancing to "Volare" - Luna, Beth and Penny in front. Other much-played line dances in early 2011: "Coco Jamboo", "Cumbia Semana", "If You Wanna Be Happy", "Rose Garden", "Sex Bomb", "S'mera", and "Tennessee Waltz".
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. For this week's dance party on Thursday (January 29, 2015), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual will offer their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
Here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:
Thursday January 29, 2015 6-10pm, 4th "Anniversary" Party, DJ Leo (Ladies: It is also "Animal Prints Night")
Thursday February 5, 2015 6-10pm, DJ Bert
Thursday February 12, 2015 6-10pm, Valentines Dance Party with DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514
Thursday February 19, 2015 6-10pm, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514
See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun ballroom and line dance parties. This is dancing in San Diego on Thursday nights - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance one-on-one lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this, for example, the best swing dancing lessons in San Diego.
(2) You can click on Links to many YouTube MUSIC VIDEOS and other websites that are mentioned in this email (the links are colored like this one for "Carinito"). And, see websites like: this group's Home Page and Upcoming Dances.
