Hi Again Dancers,
We'll be dancing again this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, October 9, 2014. This is YOUR INVITATION to be there. The wonderful DJ Leo will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING! Point Point will offer us dancers their delicious $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink. (More details below.). So come on over - Party time: from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.
Last Thursday October 2, 2014, once again nearly 50 dancers were at the dance party, thanks in part to five 1st-timers and five lovely women we had not seen in many months. It was warm & wonderful dancing to the music of DJ Bing. The nine photos below show part of the story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (OCTOBER 2, 2014):
Lots of line dances again. Above, just before eight the floor was packed for "Mamita Mia". That's Edith, Eva and Gloria in front.
Among many other line dances, above was "Bachata Risma" line dance. Ly, Gloria and my Edith are in front.
There were plenty of ballroom dances, too. Above it was Lisa dancing the cumbia "Piel Morena" with Tito.
A few minutes later Edith and Gino R were dancing a swing to "I Love The Rainy Night".
The special event of the night was the 69th birthday party for Bert Alota. Suzanne got the cake - I hear the inscription means "I love you mister".
And then they danced a cumbia together.
One of the rarely-seen dancers was Ly. Above she was dancing a swing with Tito.
And Terri said to mention that she brought in Cecile, Lulu and Amy who rarely show up at Point Point. Above we see Cecile dancing the cha cha "La Ultima Noche" with Mark.
And, once again my Edith brought a visiting daughter to Point Point. And, I got to dance with her - Valerie.
We had lots of fun with ballroom dance songs like "La Cumparsita" (tango), "No Matter What" (rumba), and "Lady In Red" (night club 2-step). And, the women loved the line dances including: "Simplemente", "Cowboy Cumbia", and "It's My Soul".
It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (October 9, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
With DJ Mel Zaragoza taking a vacation in the Philippines, here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:
Thursday October 9, 2014 6-10pm, DJ Leo
Thursday October 16, 2014 6-10pm, PINK NIGHT, DJ Bing Villafuerte, 858-610-7514
Thursday October 23, 2014 6-10pm, DJ Leo
Thursday October 30, 2014 6-10pm, HALLOWEEN COSTUME DANCE, DJ Bing
See you on the dance floor,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is the best Thursday night dancing in San Diego - they are private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego. While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance. Hmmm - I bet the simultaneous instruction while others dance makes this the best free dance lesson in San Diego.
(2) You can click on Links to YouTube videos and other sites in this email (colored like this one for "It's My Soul") to see things like: this group's Home Page and Upcoming Dances.
