No Dancing At Point Point on Holy Thursday; T2 Opened

Hello Dancers,
In respect for Holy Thursday April 21st, no dancing at Point Point.  Dance again April 28th.  T2 Tita's II Restaurant opened early last week.  More details below.

TUESDAY NIGHT LINE DANCING - At the Point Point Joint line dancing this past Tuesday (April 12th) about a dozen line dancers had fun and a good time dancing line dances that are new to the group, like "Locomotion", "Come Dance With Me", "Baby Likes to Rock It (Choo Choo Train)", "Under The Sun", "If You Wanna Be Happy", and both versions of "Asi Asi".  We welcomed first-timers Hiroko and Kuniko, and Eva returned after many months.
THIS COMING TUESDAY (April 19th) you can join the fun at Point Point, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, 6:30-9:00, when Nina will lead us through fun line dances.  $5.

WEDNESDAY FILIPINO NIGHT at Lucky Star Restaurant on April 13th had about 40 energetic dancers, the most since late October, plus about 30 diners.  Carlos escorted a nice group of ladies from Poway's Dance Station who were there to celebrate Evelyn's birthday.  Filipino Night was back in the main ballroom this past week.  While many dances got at least 20 dancers on the floor, I noticed that "In The Mood Swing Medley", "I Need To Know" cha cha, and "Patricia" cha cha each had about 24 dancers.  Among line dances, "The Right Thing That We Do" waltz, if we call it a line dance, had the most at 20.
"Filipino Night" once again will be this coming Wednesday April 20th with DJ Eric at the LUCKY STAR RESTAURANT, 54th Street & University Avenue, San Diego. 6:30-9:30PM.  $6 plus one drink minimum.

THURSDAY NIGHT (Apr 7) DANCING AT POINT POINT - the place was packed with just over 50 dancers rollicking to ballroom and line dances played again by DJ Leo.  It was Black & White Attire Night.  The dance floor was pretty crowded all night.  Nearly 40 dancers loved the Filipino 2-step, "Nasasabik Ako Saiyo".  And "The Right Thing That We Do" waltz line dance was played twice getting over 30 both times.  Once again line dancers loved "Locomotion".
This coming Thursday April 21st is Holy Thursday so the decision was made to have NO DANCING that night, and to resume on Thursday April 28th when we hope to dance again at Point Point, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.   Party dancing:  6:30-10 PM.  The only admission cost is $10 which gets you a 2-entree buffet dinner, 2 soft drinks, and all the dancing you can handle.

T2 (Tita's II) Restaurant Opened.  After nearly a year of renovations, it opened! "T2" is the new name judging from the sign.  As the Jestoni Manila Bistro, where Thursday night dancing had become a tradition of sorts, it closed at the end of May 2010.  The entrance now has attractive landscaping (see photo), and Cindy (see photo) was at the reception counter when I walked in.  At this time it is an upscale restaurant featuring karaoke with no dancing (see photo).

First of all, from Tuesday April 12th's Line Dance Night at Point Point,  we see Rei in front of the ladies dancing "Baby Likes To Rock It (Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train)".

Then, at Point Point's Black & White Attire Night Thursday April 14th, we see Rosie, a master of good poses, dancing a tango with Jack.
