Hello Dancers,
With about 35 FOREVER YOUNGSTERS along with about 15 other revelers, DJ Eric, the One-Man Band, hosted another FOREVER YOUNG NIGHT at Lucky Star this past Wednesday September 8th, as part of Lucky Star's weekly 'Filipino Night'. .
DJ Eric played 8 line dances and about 40 other ballroom dances during the night. There was plenty of room on thedance floor as there were barely 25 dancers up at any one time, and a few dancers enjoyed that, as they danced almost every dance. "Lady In Red", a night club 2-step, "After The Loving", "Disco Inferno", "Swing Medley", and a cumbia, were favorites. The line dance favorite was "September" with just over 15 dancers at 7:30pm. Among other line dances, "Coco Jamboo" got a lot of dancers up, as did "Tennessee Waltz" in its first play at aFOREVER YOUNG NIGHT.
Come on over and join the fun, frolic and laughter: Once again, this coming week FOREVER YOUNG NIGHT will again be WEDNESDAY NIGHT (September 15th) in the LUCKY STAR RESTAURANT from 6 to 9:30pm.
LINE DANCE TUESDAYS (free!) - About 24 line dancers showed up on Tuesday September 7th for line dancing and a PARTY (!!!) led by the ever-energetic Nina at Point Point Joint. The night was special as we celebrated Nina's birthday, we were joined by some who we had not seen in many many weeks, and many of the ladies brought in lots of food. Dancers enjoyed more training on"September" line dance, introduced by Angie. Penny and yours truly did training on the YouTube line dance favorite, "Tennessee Waltz", which has German lyrics and a disco hustle tempo. People were coming and going during the evening, but we got most of them in a "class picture" attached, left-to-right sitting: France, Marilou, Edith, Lee, Nina, Eva, Divine and Rei; standing: Oscar, Bong, Mel, Gloria, Jun, Beth, Nedy, Belen, Ledy and Zeny. Come join the fun this coming Tuesday (September 14th) at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, 6:00-9:00, when Nina will again lead us through fun line dances.
OTHER HAPPENINGS:
Art Tennessee reports that Wednesday evening karaoke and dancing 9pm-1am at Jasmine Restaurant on Convoy Street is attracting people we know, since Kristina, the Filipina karaoke queen began there earlier this summer.
Carlos gave me info on the weekly Friday night dances: There are 3 that begin variously between 7 or 8pm and go till about 11pm, the 32nd Street Dance Group (see their link in Links section), the Poway Group, and the relatively new RMX Group that meets in the Studio FX, 9499 Kearny Villa Road near Mira Mar Road.
