DANCE PARTY at Eastlake Thursday January 26, 2023

Hello Dancers,  

   You are invited to a DANCE PARTY this Thursday January 26, 2023, at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food, and beverages. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The great DJ Bing Villafuerte will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.  Cool clear weather is forecast.

  MASKS required?  Well, the homeowners association still has a "masks recommended" sign on the door.  In order to have a healthy dance, please do not come in if you have a fever, a bad cough, or other serious cold or flu symptoms.  Anyone can wear a mask who chooses. Everyone should bring a mask, just in case the requirements change at the last minute.

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

A CHINESE NEW YEAR NIGHT DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake last Thursday, January 19th, with DJ Nickie Bascos, on a cool drizzling-weather night.  There were 35 dancers.  Here are some photos from the Facebooks, where you can see about 200 nice photos:

 

 

 LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6 to 7pm, and off and on until 10PM.  In the photo above, Aurea and Faye were dancing closest to the camera.

 CHOPSTICKS.?  Well, it was a Chinese New Year Party, so Mona, Juliet and Minda tried dinner with chopsticks, in the photo above.

 

 

 

 DJ NICKIE tried it too, in the photo above, while he kept the music going all night.

 

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was frequent, too.  In the photo above, John was dancing with his fiancée Elaine.  John invited the dancers to their June wedding.

 

 

 

 LOLIT WAS SPECIAL in Japanese-style attire in the photo above, so judges and prize donors Josie, Rei and Edith awarded Lolit a special prize.

 

 

 

WINNERS IN THE CHINESE NEW YEAR NIGHT BEST ATTIRE CONTEST lined up for the photo above.  They were Faye, Elaine, Juliet, Minda, Annie, Aurea, Beth, Estrelle, Karina, Nedy, Melba, Edna and Gemma. Not in the photo was Mona. About 8 actual prizes were handed out after random-name drawings.

 THE BIRTHDAY CAKE was graciously baked and provided by Myra (Veronica), and it was delicious.

 

 

 BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS in the photo above gathered joyously in their red attire to sing and blow out the cake's candles.  They were Melba, Josie, Nora, Huda, Connie and Jannette in front.  Mel Paiste was behind Josie, and Ruben peeked over Connie.

 

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was frequent, too.  In the photo above, Mona was dancing with Joe, possibly to a cumbia.

A CHRISTMAS DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake last Thursday, December 22nd, with DJ Nick Bascos and 55 dancers, thanks in part to 8 first-timers, and some returning since before the pandemic.  Here are some photos:

 BALLROOM DANCING continued, and Letty & Dan Sullivan came with Beth from the 32nd Street dancers, and Nedy got a selfie of Letty and Dan dancing.

 THE MERRY CHRISTMAS CAKE.  Myra (Veronica) brought another delicious cake for the dancers.  In the photo above, Myra was about to cut the first pieces of cake.

CHRISTMAS DANCE PARTY at Eastlake Thursday December 22, 2022

Hello Dancers,  

   You are invited to a CHRISTMAS DANCE PARTY this Thursday December 22, 2022, at Eastlake Shores, 2050 Lakeshore Drive, Chula Vista. There'll be lots of dancing, fun, food, and beverages.  PLUS, each of the 4 weeks after that will be special with:  a NEW YEAR MASQUERADE BALL, a COWBOY & WESTERN NIGHT, the JANUARY BIRTHDAYS PARTY, and a CHINESE NEW YEAR PARTY. It's a "private party" and this is your invitation.  Dancers are welcome to bring a dish of food to share.  The amazing DJ Nickie Bascos will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 10pm.

  MASKS required?  Well, the homeowners association still has a "masks recommended" sign on the door.  In order to have a healthy dance, please do not come in if you have a fever, a bad cough, or other serious cold or flu symptoms.  Anyone can wear a mask who chooses. Everyone should bring a mask, just in case the requirements change at the last minute.

DIRECTIONS: Take H Street east to Eastlake Drive.  Go right one block, then turn right onto Lakeshore Drive. Then, turn left immediately into the parking lot of 2050 Lakeshore Drive.  The Eastlake Shores Clubhouse is behind the gated fence.

A DECEMBER BIRTHDAYS DANCE PARTY was at Eastlake last Thursday, December 1st, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, and 56 dancers, thanks in part to twelve 1st-timers. Here are some photos:

 

 

BEFORE EATING, dancers posed for the photo above. Nedy gave a blessing and gratitude for the food, and a prayer for everyone's good health.

 

 

 

 LINE DANCING was non-stop from 6pm to 7pm, then off and on until 10pm.  In the photo above, Lolit was in front of many dancers.

 

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was frequent.  In the selfie photo above, Nedy snapped Cindy and birthday celebrant Chito enjoying a west coast swing, probably, such as "Roadrunner" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VGf0u-xOYU ),  which was played.

 

 

 

 THE BIRTHDAY CAKE.  Once again, Myra (Veronica) baked a fabulous birthday cake for the celebrants and dancers.  Besides the elaborate decorations, the cake featured a layer of strawberries and peaches and cream.

 

 

 

 BIRTHDAY CELEBRANTS with birthdays in December were singing along to Happy Birthday in the photo above.  They were Vangie, Araceli, Nida, Chito, Estrelle and Edna.

 

 

 

NIDA BY THE TREE.  In the photo above, birthday celebrant Nida posed in front of the Christmas tree.  I assume the Eastlake association brought in the tree, lights and several poinsettia potted plants. The tree was next to the DJ's table.

FLASHBACK TO 2021 DECEMBER BIRTHDAYS PARTY:

 

 

The 2021 DECEMBER BIRTHDAY CAKE.  Well there actually were 2 cakes. The cake in the photo above was baked and decorated by Myra (Veronica).  Besides tasting fabulous, it was a layered cake, with chocolate mousse filling between the layers, and it featured Christmas-themed frosting and decorations.
