2015 Highlights (2nd half). Here are 13 photos from July - December 2015 that show some of the fun & frolic at different places on Thursday nights. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
2015 Highlights (2nd half of year):
'Bakit Pa' Singers. I loved it. The ladies' enthusiasm was at full volume as they sang along to the he-did-her-wrong song "Bakit Pa" on HAWAIIAN NIGHT, July 23, 2015, in Point Point Joint.
WINNER! Esther won a Hawaiian Night raffle Grand Prize of a MINI REFRIGERATOR donated by Nick Enriquez and Eden. Earlier, Celi had won a microwave oven, also donated by Eden and Nick.
Ballroom Dancing is what the guys liked. Above it was Elsie dancing a bachata with Ping on July 30, 2015, in Point Point Joint.
HAT NIGHT. Above, on August 27, 2015, it was Hat Night at Point Point Joint, and most of the glamorous hat ladies lined up. Lots got prizes.
LINE DANCES were non-stop from 6pm - 7pm on Thursday nights. Above, Edith R was in the front line dancing one of the year's favorites, "Blurred Lines". This photo was on Oct. 22, 2015, after we began dancing at Four Points by Sheraton on Aero Drive. Point Point Joint underwent a management change in September.
Above, Eva & Dwayne enjoyed dancing on the wooden floor at Four Points on Oct. 22, 2015.
HALLOWEEN COSTUME DANCE PARTY was Oct. 29, 2015, at Four Points. This cell phone photo captured only a little of the flavor of the great costumes.
FOOD AT FOUR POINTS. Above, Nina, Rei and Belen enjoyed some of the appetizers that Nick and Eden provided for dancers on Thursday nights. This photo was taken Oct. 29th.
DANCING AT MIRA MESA. When we worried that Thursday night dancing would be a thing of the past, suddenly 3 places began Thursday night dancing catering to the Fil-Am dancers in San Diego. Above, on Nov. 5, 2015, on the 1st night of "Dance The Night Away" at the Mira Mesa Senior Center, Esta and Lou were in the front line dancing to the waltz line dance.
GROUP PHOTO. Back in Four Point's Skies Lounge on Nov. 12, 2015, dancers gathered for a group photo, with Dwayne, Rei and Nina seated in front.
BACK IN THE JOINT. We got to return to dancing in the re-decorated Point Point Joint on Dec. 10th. Above, it was the Christmas Dance Party attire winners on Dec. 17, 2015. Left to right: Heidi, Esther, Eva, Dwayne, Evelyn and Rei.
BORRACHO Y LOCO. Romy, Mr. Avocado, above in the light green shirt dancing to the year's favorite line dance, "Bachata Risma", taught us some lyrics to that line dance.
CHRISTMAS PARTY DANCERS - well, many of them - lined up for a group photo near closing time on Dec 17, 2015. Hmmm. OK, 2 weeks ago I named the guys in the front row. Who's in the 2nd row? Left to right: Bernie, Neriza, Evelyn, Heidi, Nene, Eva, Nina, Eden, Rei and Beth. Way in back is manager Tessie.
Hoping to see you on the dance floor this coming Thursday,

Happy New Year Everyone!
And we hope your Christmas was a Merry one! No dance this coming Thursday night at Point Point Joint - it's New Years Eve. We'll resume at Point Point Joint a week later on Jan. 7th, maybe with a "1st of 2016 Party" or something.
2015 Highlights (1st half). Here are eight photos from early 2015 that show some of the fun & frolic that goes on in Point Point on Thursday nights. Point Point Joint was managed by Lydia until September. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
2015 Highlights (1st half of year):
First Party. On Jan. 8, 2015, near closing time jubilant folks danced to "Let's Twist Again."
Food Frenzies. Romy & Marilyn treated dancers to boxes of freshly picked food (mostly avocados) at different times during the year. On Feb. 12, 2015, a box of avocados was all gone in less than 60 seconds.
Birthday Party. Dolores had a birthday celebration party (and several dancers joined her for a picture) on April 9, 2015.
The 'Bakit Pa' Singers were very enthusiastic. Left to right on June 11, 2015, were Medy, Lou, Eva, Gloria and Rima.
Filipino Night. Gloria and Tito had fabulous Filipino attire on June 11th. Above they danced to the swing "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel".
Winners. Several of the Best Attired lined up for a photo on June 11th.
Line Dances were a big part of the dance parties. Above it was "Bachata Risma" with Beth & Belen in the front line on June 11th, which was probably the favorite line dance of the year in Point Point Joint.
Photo Opportunities were basically every song. Above Medy, Nita, Edith and Mona posed while dancers continued with "Runaway" line dance on June 25th.
Hoping to see you on the dance floor January 7th,
Bert & Edith

Merry Christmas Everyone!
No dance this coming Thursday night at Point Point Joint - it's Christmas Eve. We'll skip New Years Eve, too, and resume Jan. 7th.
Last Thursday December 17, 2015, was a big Christmas Dance Party with several first-timers, prizes for most festive attire, Point Point's delicious food buffet, lots of complimentary snacks, and DJ Bing Villafuerte. With close to 50 people in the Joint, there was a lot going on! The 8 photos below tell only part of the story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
CHRISTMAS PARTY THURSDAY DECEMBER 17, 2015 AT POINT POINT JOINT:
Line Dances galore, non-stop from 6pm till 7pm. Above, Sisi, Beth and Nina were in front line dancing "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree".
Ballroom Dances - that's what most of us guys preferred, like above it was Mark and first-timer lovely Lily dancing the rumba "Besame Mucho".
Cumbia. Above, also in brilliant red, it was Neriza dancing "Cumbia" with Lito.
Food Frenzy. About 8pm, Romy & Marilyn brought in boxes of goodies. Above, a big box of persimmons was emptied in 60 seconds. A box of avocados was put under the table - it was emptied in 30 seconds!!
Winners. Well, everyone was looking good, but judges picked the above 6 to get prizes. Left to right: Heidi, Esther (who's still on loan here from North Carolina), Eva, Dwayne, Evelyn and Rei.
Borracho Y Loco. Above, line dancers loved "Bachata Risma" all year. It's probably the year-end favorite. Lito, Nene and Sisi were in the front line above.
Group Photo. Near closing time, most dancers lined up for a group photo. Guys in front: Mel Zaragoza, Ruben, Jake, Dwayne, Romy and Herbert.
Lydia Returned. Another highlight of the night was Lydia, Point Point's former owner-manager, who dropped by with an ice cream Christmas cake. After the cake was eaten, I got to dance a swing with Lydia.
Hoping to see you on the dance floor January 7th,
Bert & Edith

P.S. Other Notes: (1) These are really fun parties of line dancing and ballroom dancing like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more. This is Thursday night dancing in San Diego - they are considered private parties, and this is your invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego, next on Thursday January 7, 2016. While the dancing is continuous at these dances, in case you do not know the easy steps used for a particular dance, ask me & I'll get someone to give you a free dance lesson while the music plays.

Christmas Dance Party This Thursday Dec 17th
Let's Party!
At Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, from 6pm till 10pm this Thursday December 17th. The phenomenal DJ Bing Villafuerte will play line dances non-stop from 6 to 7pm, then mixed ballroom & line dances including swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more. Wear Festive Holiday Attire - there will be an Ugly Sweater Contest (see last years' winners below). Prizes and maybe complimentary snacks, too. $8 for entry and $5 for food. It will be a fun dance party again there (the 2nd week back at Point Point Joint), and this is your invitation.
Last Thursday December 10, 2015, 25 dancers enjoyed the music of DJ Bing, and meeting new Point Point managers Cathy and Tessie. We saw lots of new paint and upgrades. And, some dancers who did not go to Thursdays at Four Points were at Point Point last Thursday. The five photos below tell part of the story. (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):
