NO DANCE at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday August 13, 2026

Hello Dancers,  
   Well, there will be NO THURSDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY this coming Thursday August 13th at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, because we reduced the schedule to have dances only for special events, usually every other week.  So, come to the August Birthdays Dance Party on August 20th, especially if you have a birthday in August. 

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

A CARIBBEAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, August 6, 2026, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, on a mild and dry night. There were just over 50 in attendance, thanks in part to 3 first-timers.  Here are 6 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, most were copied from Facebooks.

 BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, Lolit and her dad Willy were dancing to what I think was the rumba "Esta Noche" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cNaPsyNQws ). 

 

 

  UPCOMING THURSDAY NIGHTS signs for Thursday nights at Lola Happy Bistro were held by "Ring Girls" Neriza, Lita, Lynn and Belem, in the photo above.

 

 

LINE DANCING was a favorite.  In the photo above, Roland's Inspiring Dancers, in CARIBBEAN attire,  performed a line dance to "Coconut Dreams" line dance ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_kgJaLmY5Y ).  In this photo we see Faye near the stage, Geraldine, Eva and Jannet in the middle, and Lolit and Irish near the audience.  Roland was near the stage, but not in this photo.  

 

 

  WINNING COUPLES in CARIBBEAN Night party attire posed for the photo above.  They were Bert Alota & Shirley, Eva & Dwayne, Marta & Jeff, Connie & Ric, Jannet & DJ Bing, Nora & Joe, Lolit & Michael, Irish & Roland, Faye & John, Maria & Cisco and Geraldine & Romi. Lydia and Josie were the prize committee. 

 

 

  WINNING SINGLES in CARIBBEAN Night party attire posed for the photo above.  In this photo we see Evelyn, Beth, Lynn, Lita, Pinky, Minda, Jennifer, Belem, Annie and Gracie (a 1st-timer).  Nedy, Estrelle, Neriza and Ellen were also winners, but not in this photo.

Thursday,  September 3, 2026:  Arabian Night Dance Party, especially if you have any Arabian attire,  at Lola Happy Bistro,  3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://www.facebook.com/lolahappybistro  (619) 434-7371).  Arabian-attired dancers vie for prizes. 6pm - 9:30pm.  DJ Bing Villafuerte.

 It's a fun dance party most Thursday nights with line dances and ballroom dances like swing, cha cha, night club 2-step, cumbia, rumba and much much more.

P.S. Other Notes: (1) This is the best Thursday night dance in the San Diego area -- a Thursday dance at Lola Happy Bistro - a Thursday night dance in National City, with ballroom and line dances, Filipino dances, cha cha cha dancing and swing dancing on a Thursday night in San Diego.  While the dancing and music will be non-stop, there are dancers who are happy to give free one-on-one ballroom and line dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
