Hi Dancers and Party People,
  We'll have a good time again at the Dance Party this Thursday night at Point Point Joint, June 26, 2014.  This is your invitation to join the thrilling fun this coming Thursday.  The phenomenal DJ Mel Zaragoza will be playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.).  So come on over - Party time:  from 6pm until 10pm at Point Point Joint, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.  

  Last Thursday June 19, 2014, there were over 40 dancers, thanks in part to four first-timers including Cora Anderson, president of the Fil-Am Unity Group of CA, which features DJ Mel Zaragoza at their dances.  There was lots of dancing and things happening - the eight photos below tell part of the story.         (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

THURSDAY NIGHT AT POINT POINT JOINT (JUNE 19, 2014):

Line dancers had the floor to themselves for a full hour (6-7pm) as usual.  Here Nene and Edith are in front on "Mamita Mia".  For a second week new line dances "Carinito" and "Bajo La Luna" (both by Sparx) each got played twice. 

The venerable Bert Andrade, shown here dancing the bachata "Tornero" with Lu, did a lot of dancing before heading to Gapo.

The night club two-step dances were popular.  Here we see Nene dancing to one with Jake.

And, across the floor, Mona and Florita were dancing to the same song.

About 8:15 line dancers packed the floor for "Bachata Risma (Lamento Boliviano)".  Nickie, Ly and Romy were in front in this photo.

A few minutes later Lolita and Mark wee dancing a cha cha.

The dancing all-stars Florita and Ruben were dancing a cumbia in this picture.

Speaking of all stars, here is Dwayne and Eva, with Dwayne wearing his Las Vegas Chess Championship shirt.


  It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (June 26, 2014), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is the invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  While the dancing is continuous, there are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.
