Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ), with the marvelous DJ Bing Villafuerte.  There'll be lots of dancing, fun, and food and beverages off the menu (don't bring any food or beverages - you are urged to buy a dinner, even if you just take it home).  Filipino-attired dancers vie for prizes.  DJ Bing will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 9:30pm.  A mild and dry night is currently forecast.

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

  ART WAS BACK this past Thursday night at the Bistro, which he frequented on Thursday night dances when Lola Happy Bistro was the Jestoni Bistro.  Way back in the year 2010, Art had gathered the email addresses of all the dancers in the Bistro at that time, and that was the start of this weekly emailed report.

 

 

 BALLROOM DANCING was abundant. In the photo above, Joe was dipping Nedy while they were dancing what probably was a swing dance. LINE DANCES were very frequent, too, but we got no good photo of line dancers this time.

BALLROOM & LINE DANCE PARTY at LOLA HAPPY BISTRO Thursday May 8, 2025

Hello Dancers,  
  You are invited to a BALLROOM & LINE DANCE PARTY at Lola Happy Bistro this coming Thursday May 8th, at Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950 ( https://lolahappybistro.com/ ), with the great DJ Bing Villafuerte.  There'll be lots of dancing, fun, and food and beverages off the menu (don't bring any food or beverages - you are urged to buy a dinner, even if you just take it home).  DJ Bing will play for line dancing 6pm-7pm, and mixed ballroom & line dances until 9:30pm.  A mild and dry night is currently forecast.

  DIRECTIONS:  Lola Happy Bistro, 3421 E. Plaza Blvd., National City 91950, is almost a mile east of the 805-Plaza Blvd exit, at the signal-lighted intersection of Plaza Blvd and Manchester Street. We will be in the restaurant with a few regular customers.

A CINCO DE MAYO & MEXICAN NIGHT DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, May 1, 2025, with DJ Bing Villafuerte, on a mild and dry night.  There were almost 60 in attendance, thanks in part to 4 first-timers.  Here are 6 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, most were copied from Facebook posts:

Roland, Zeny, Remy and Eva were in the front line.  Merely, Mary Jane and Lolit were in the 2nd line, more or less.  Irish and Sol were in back.

A BALLROOM & LINE DANCE PARTY was at Lola Happy Bistro on this past Thursday night, April 24, 2025, with DJ Nickie Bascos, on a cool and dry night.  There were about 55 in attendance, thanks in part to 11 first-timers.  Here are 5 photos from last Thursday's Dance Party, some copied from Facebook posts:
