Mexican Night Dance at Point Point Joint this Thursday Night May 8, 2014

Attention Nacho-Lovers,

Tortilla chips and nacho cheese are supposed to be some of the complimentary snacks this Thursday night at Point Point Joint.  Yes, this Thursday May 8, 2014, from 6pm until 10pm it will be a Mexican Night Dance Party.  There will be costume prizes.  Chicharron, too.  This is your invitation to what's bound to be a lot fun and frolic.  It will feature DJ Mel Zaragoza playing swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.)

What about last week?  Let these eight pictures tell the story.      (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

TUESDAY NIGHT LINE DANCING (April 29th):

As we approach the 4-year anniversary of Tuesday night line dancing in Point Point, even warm weather does not deter these dancers.  Here are eleven of them, including Bob Nobleza in the white shirt who had not popped in Tuesday night in about a year.  Nina is getting ready for a 3-week vacation in Europe, and this Tuesday (May 6, 2014) will be the last Tuesday night line dancing in Point Point Joint until June 3, 2014.  What was practiced?  Well, a new one for us, "Mamita Mia", got some attention.

THURSDAY NIGHT (May 1st):

Nene was enjoying her 3rd week at Thursday night at Point Point Joint, getting more courageous on the dance floor each time.  Here she was dancing a cha cha with Jake.

There were 30 dance-party people at Point Point Joint again last Thursday.  Here we see about 10 of them on the floor for the line dance "Happy", which is still relatively new to Point Point dancers.

Bert Alota dipped Suzanne during a cumbia.

Later in the night, Nickie and Lou were looking good and having fun dancing to a salsa.

At the same time Lolita, in her 2nd Thursday night at Point Point Joint, was dancing to the same salsa with Ruben.

A few dances later, Lolita danced a night club 2-step with Jake.

The party kept going till 10pm when Florita and Lita danced to "Goodnight My Love".

NEW YOU TUBE VIDEO:
We recorded another line dance video Thursday night.  Click this link: "It's My Soul", featuring about 15 of the 30 dancers who were at Point Point Joint Thursday night.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Mexican Night Dance Party on Thursday (May 8th), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Here's the plan for the next few weeks at Point Point:

Thursday  May 8, 2014   MEXICAN NIGHT  6-10pm, DJ Mel

Thursday  May 15, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Mel Zaragoza, 619-947-9049

P.S. Other Notes: (1) The Thursday night dance parties are private parties, and this is the invitation to members of the email group to enjoy dancing in Point Point Joint Restaurant, a mere four miles from downtown San Diego.  There are dancers who are happy to give free dance lessons during the dances, in case you don't know the steps of a particular dance.

Dance Party this Thursday Night at Point Point Joint May 1, 2014

Attention Fun-Lovers,

Boogie on down to Point Point Joint this Thursday night for a joyous dance time with DJ Mel Zaragoza from 6pm until 10pm.  We hope to see you there.  This is your invitation to another fun-filled Dance Time Party 6 to 10pm. DJ Mel Zaragoza will play swing, cha cha, cumbia, tango, and many more - and of course - LINE DANCING!  Point Point will offer us dancers their fabulous $10 dinner special which includes a soft drink.  (More details below.)

It looks like it will be "Mexican Night" on May 8th Thursday night at Point Point Joint, with complementary snacks etc.

30 dance-party people showed up last Thursday (April 24th).  I think the highlight of the night was a birthday celebration forLita.  And, DJ Mel kept the party-goers dancing from 6 to 10pm with some great music.  Here are eleven photos from the April 24th Dance Party:    (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

Here's Romy dancing to the cumbia "Desvelado" with Marilyn.  Some months ago Romy had brought to our attention that"Desvelado" by Bobby Pulido is a great cumbia dance song.

DJ Mel and Susie were also having fun dancing to"Desvelado".

My goodness!  I think everyone was.  DJ Dwayne and Eva were also dancing the cumbia.

Line dances were in abundance as usual.  Here we see line dancers enjoying "Bachata Risma", one of the relatively new line dance favorites, with Edith, DJ Dwayne and Estrelle in front.

Around 8:30 we sang Happy Birthday to Lita.  Here she is cutting the cake.

And then Lita was congratulated by Edith R, Florita and Nedy.

Meanwhile, Bert Alota was dancing with Suzanne to the many-year rumba favorite "Esta Noche" by the Sparx.

A while later, Jake and Florita were enjoying dancing to another rumba.

Towards the end of the night, Marilyn and Bert A were dancing a tango.

Right around closing time, I spotted Ly dancing a disco swing with Hector.

Well, it seemed to take the whole night for Nene, on her second Thursday night at Point Point Joint, to get up courage to try a ballroom dance.  But, on the last dance of the night, Jakemanaged to coax her onto the floor.

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point Joint with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  For this weeks' Dance Party on Thursday (May 1st), Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City, as usual offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.

Thursday  May 1, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Mel

Thursday  May 8, 2014   MEXICAN NIGHT  6-10pm, DJ Mel

Thursday  May 15, 2014   6-10pm, DJ Mel

See you on the dance floor,

Break for Holy Week - Next at Point Point: Thursday April 24, 2014

OK Folks,

Take this week off for Holy Week.  But, we'll be back on the Point Point dance floor on Thursday night, April 24, 2014.

30 dance-party people showed up last Thursday (April 10th) for a fun-filled frolic on the Point Point dance floor.

Nine photos from the April 10th Dance Party:    (Note: If the following photos do not appear when you look at this email, click the words at the top of this email that say something like "Show images which are still blocked to protect your privacy" - I already know who you are):

Bert Alota and Suzanne danced a cute bachata in this photo.

A few minutes later, Lou was dancing a cumbia here with the venerable Bert Andrade.

It was a rare and wonderful treat to have DJ Dwayne and Eva at the Party.  Here they are dancing a waltz.

Nickie was back, dancing a night club 2-step here with Lou.

Across the floor, Beth and Jake were dancing to the same night club 2-step.

Line dances were in abundance. Here dancing "Bachata Risma", one of the newer favorites, we see Florita and Edith in front.

The "Honky Tonk Twist" boogie got several people on the floor.  Lita was dancing here with Nickie.

DJ Mel Zaragoza was playing a fabulous mix of music, and he still had time to dance "Hernando's Hideaway" tango with Susie.

Well, it was closing time but the dancers kept right on dancing.  Here they are dancing another new line dance, "Let's Mambo Together".

It's a fun dance party most every Thursday night at Point Point (except this week's Holy Thursday, and later in the year Thanksgiving and Christmas) with line dances and ballroom dances like swing including Manila Swing (also known as 4-count hustle or Philippine swing or Filipino swing), cha cha, night club 2-step, tango and much much more.  Remember the next Dance Party will be on Thursday (April 24, 2014), at Point Point Joint Restaurant, 916 E. 8th Street, National City.  Point Point offers their special price of $10 for 2-entree dinner plus drink for Thursday Night dancers.
